  • Fantastico!!!

  • wow

  • I'll agree with the opinions of the Ion, i missed mine so bad, I bought a micron and well, I'm thinking of ditching it for an Ion, cuz this little guy gets hot! Yes I have the sounds I missed, but the menu system is way too deep, good vid!

  • wow

  • Nice video man. Love the sounds

  • you did a great job!!

  • Brilliant! Cheers

  • What patch and settings for the knobs did you use? Do you have a link to any patch used? Thanks.

  • Very nice!

  • Alesis Ion is the most under-rated synth on the market. BY A LONG SHOT...It's all because of the name. Most Alesis stuff IS garbage but not the Ion (or Andromeda). They assembled one of the most talented teams around to create that beast.

    I own TWO.

  • @djfakt

I totally agree. And I WISH I had two, so I could link them together and create some massive sounds!

  • @djfakt I actually have the alesis micron which I midi to another larger keyboard and it sounds great!

    !

    Well done bro!!

  • wow dude this is EXACTLY like the album version awesome!

  • I'll get around to learning this some day... Anyone tried playing this on a Yamaha (Motif) and which patch do you use?

  • Wow, that's about as close to the original as I've heard aside from sampling it.

  • Excellent job dude! Can you share the patches with us? I will be glad to have these patches on my Alesis Micron

  • Amazing!!!!

  • Sounds amazing! I give you the Van Halen Fan Stamp of Approval. BTW, awesome Saitek keyboard you got there. ;-)

  • Very good but I think filter is a little bit too open and resonant....the original sound isn't that resonant and noisy...good job indeed anyway!

  • this is pretty good. The actual song though to me is so much more deep. It gives me the goosebumps every time i listen to it

  • Magical. Best on youtube.

  • absolutly great job ¡¡¡¡¡ and sound greetings

  • It may sound as analog as your rev3 p5, but I can't hold a candle to the rev2. Get a Rev2, zamp. At some point the rev 3 will come across as canned.

  • VERY NICE SOUND; VERY close to original. CONGRATS ¡¡¡¡¡

That sound REMIND mE all my CHILDHOOD back in 80´s years. ALL those years when STAR WARS AND CLOSE ENCOUNTERS appears in my life.....

  • Awesome job!

  • "O"

  • Awesome!!! I've made 1984 but yours it's way better! ;-)

  • 100% yes

  • Nice job, sounded VERY true to the original!

  • Very nice!

  • Hey can you send me that patch? Or tell how to set it up? I just bought one of these so still learning it. That patch would be bad azz

  • la mejor cortina para las minitecas de venezuela !!!

  • AWESOME!!!

  • very gooodd

  • Pro it up chris!!

  • Excellent sound and performance!

  • mogolico que mierda estaas tocando!

  • Great job indeed, both with the patch and the playing ! I own an ion too, and I keep discovering new things I can do with it almost every day !

  • Thank you. Yes, the Ion can do quite a bit; it's very suprising.

  • Good Job M8!!! Excellent!

  • Thanks!

  • the ION is the most analog sounding VA on the market...sounds bettter than the nord or virus

  • Comment removed

  • That's a great patch. Purists would say that's too digital, so the only thing you could do is roll off some of the treble, or find an amp sim to put it through.

  • the purists would be dead wrong in this case. I own a prophet-5, and my ION sounds just as analog.

  • JAUPA; awesome, good job.....

  • can you also post Van Halen's song I'll Wait

    that song is so cool

    like your work man :)

  • Well, the patch for that song is really brassy sounding becuse of the Curtis CEM chips used in the Oberheim, but once I get a patch close to it I'll learn the song and post it, sure.

    Thank you!

  • yo chris what's the name of the path that you use.

cause i don't play that long and have a yamaha tyros 2 but : ( there is nothing that sounds like it . maybe a view but they do not sound like your's maybe i can load it somewere so pretty pretty please

  • COOL SOUNDS.!

  • thanks! cool synth's yourself!

  • I have to ask: can you sahre these patches?

  • change the LFO a tad...

  • Nice Job!

  • appreciate it =)

  • Lo tocaste MUY bien!

    Felicidades!

    You played VERY well!

    Congrats ;)

  • thank you very much! =)

  • Very nice synth :D lol

  • thank you! yes it is =)

  • and a slightly slower attack

  • very nice fat sounds man!!

  • thanks dude! i want to remake this though with it running through my BBE and MX200 for a bit of reverb and sparkle

  • it just needs a bit more release time on the amp envelope; no reverb.

  • EXCELLENT JOB!!!

  • Thank you very much! Great videos yourself!

  • wow! thats a cool sounding but weird looking keyboard!!!! how old is it? how many keys? it is sooo small!!!! btw good job

  • Thanks! Well, the Ion is a 49 key synth that was released in 02' I bought it in 2006 though new for $599.00. It has recently been discontinued and replaced by the Micron; they are essential the same exact things except the Ion is much easier to program because of all of the knobs and buttons, instead of tons of menus. I love it though, it can create so many sounds!

  • 100% dude!

  • thank you!

  • Congratulations! Quite similar to the original Oberheim OBX-A sound.

  • thank you! yes, I try.

  • very good emulation sound just like the original OB oberheim.

  • thanks a bunch!

  • interesante

  • Really amazing sound! Good job!

  • Thank you!

  • if I were to play the original i could not tell the differences very good job 5 out of 5

  • Thank you very much! That's what I was striving for.

  • Thanks dude!

  • SOUNDS DEAD FUCKING ON!!!!

  • great just like eddie man nice job i wish i could play like that

  • Thanks a lot man!

  • Amazing!!!! Perfect execution, expression and tone!

Congratulations for the gear you own

  • thank you very much!

  • Great playing! The Alesis Ion is a great little synth.

  • thanks man. yes it is!

  • Great!

  • that would be AMAZING!! because last time i checked, i think it was 1980's pad? with some adjustments?

  • what were the sounds called before you modified them? i'm more interested in what the low end was called, and what you did to modifiy it. GREAT SOUND!

  • Thanks! Well, I don't exactly remember what the original patches were, but give me a few days and I can run through the whole patch and tell you all of the settings.

  • Oh yeah!!! That was great!

  • thanks.

  • damnn.. the best version on youtube. thanx!

  • Fantastic Sound man! If I close my eyes I imagine an Oberheim doing it. Is it a preset or a patch of your own?

  • Thanks. Its actually two patches of my own with the keyboard in split mode. I use one for the left hand swell and one for the right hand strings.

  • Congrsastulations! And keep rocking with your amazing Ion.

  • thanks dude!

  • Great! And now... JUMP! ;D

  • Tight!

  • You got banned XD

  • Nice, but you need to play in octaves on the bass part. Lower the octave of your bass split and play in octaves and your set. I also did this on my ion and found setting one oscillator an octave lower than the rest filled out the sound nicely. Keep up the good work. =)

  • great to see my synthesizer - amazing sound!

  • Sounds the amazing!!!

  • thanks!
