Way too much pumping on the throttle man...that ain't working on the 2CV engine! Just a little choke will do, and press the trhottle only after the engine starts to run. Otherwise you risk flooding the carb.

emm, primero tira mas del starter si ves que no arranca, segundo si ves que a la segunda no arranca, dejalo descansar o ahogaras el motor, lo digo por que tengo un bmw 1800 del año 1965 y le pasa igual, si no lo pones a la primera, o segunda, no te arrancara, tira más del started y pisa a fondo el acelerador. put the choke in.. keep your foot flat on the floor, and dont release the starter till you know its running! stop mincing about with the throttle pumping it and all that, just keep it on the floor and it will start!
No me extraña que no te arranque si lo estás ahogando. En arranque en frío, sin apretar el gas, estirar del estárter y dar al arranque. en caliente, sin estárter, gas a fondo (sin bombear) y dar al arranque. Verás que te arranca enseguida.
She dont need choke. Only a little gas use. I have 2CV, Mehari Pony (GReek FAF if u know). N E V E R had a prob to start engines, even in heavy winter.

The best way to start a 2cv is to leave your foot to the floor, and crank it over.
Keep in mind this is how i start my Ami when the coil is hot.
