Today, 10th Jan 2010, in Carpi (Northern Italy) I saw the same light which appeared on the way for my home. I live out of the city in open campaign, i do that street 2 or 4 days a week and i never seen nothing like this. I would like to know if someone in Italy saw the same thing...

(...continued) this went on for about 15 minutes, until the white lights disappeared and the red light flew up to the cloudy sky. It was like those lights were dancing on the sky. I was scared shitless, although mesmerised by this odd phenomenon. I've never seen anything like this before, but will be better prepared should I ever see something similar again.

Last night at about 2 AM in Raasepori, Finland, there was a red 'star' in the sky, even though it was cloudy. Moments later, a white light started blinking under it. I just thought it was an airplane and went to get some water. When I came back, there was a lot more going on, with more and more white lights just flying around under the red light, disappearing into the darkness.

Hey man, I live in Greer. I have seen 2 UFO's like this on Country Club Rd. near Hampton ridge.My friend and i were driving and we saw a bright light hovering really high in the sky.We tried to get directly under it.We stopped and got out.all of a sudden the light went out.it looked invisible for a second, then we could slightly see it.it wasn't an airplane because airplanes cannot hover.it couldnt be a helicopter because it was totally silent.Some shit is happening in greer man.

@Masonictoaster9 No I haven't seen anything else. Also, nobody else saw it that night that I'm aware of. It was on July 3rd, so it's possible that other people may have glanced up at it and thought is was a firework.

@designisnigh I also have one that come through Sumter at night and when i saw this real bright light shining down i told my daughter and she saw it and i got my telescope and when i look at it was like behind a cloud and then these small light shot out from it and then it went dim and they brighten again and those objects came back.

I saw a similar object in 1978 in New Hampshire. I was sitting down to eat dinner when I noticed a very bright white light hovering in the field next to our house. I went outside and watched it and it was completely silent, no noice whatsoever. It was very large as well and it hovered about 50 feet off the ground. After a few minutes it disapeared. I never figured out what it was.

on july 4th 2009 in Leguna Niguel CA i say 5 red glowing orbs. then they seemed to come to geather into a bigger one and then blinked and where gone. Crazy stuff, i have been looking for videos like the one i say in real life most look like the same thing but all over the world. crazy

Yesterday I've saw same thing in Prague .. red orb / ball on sky about 1 oclock AM.The light moved quite quickly and then within 3 seconds, completely lost and the sky were just stars ....

i live in walhalla, sc. i didnt see anything that night but on friday nov.14, 2009 i saw a small red light go over me while my sister and i was laying on the trampolin. i live out in the country so there are hardly any lights. all u see is stars. anyways the light moved slowly then speeded up untill it got almost complletly over us and it dissappeared. I live in SC near Aiken. I can see lights almost any clear night. Usually they just fly really high up across the sky, boring but sometimes they seem to be playing around. Once a huge bright light flashed like a giant camera flash & it felt like it was just for me but I do not know for sure. I have no knowledge of what is going on up there but planes have constant flashing lights & sound when they go over me. The lights I am talking about stay solid but sometimes become very bright & are faster

You are in Greer? Awesome. You're the first person I've heard that has seen the same thing in this area. The Kia theory is interesting, but this just doesn't look like balloons. Plus with over 7,000 views (at this point) nobody has been able to explain how the white light shot up and then sped off as it moved to the south. Thanks for the post!

hey, um, tonight i was with 2 of my friends and we saw a red light emerge from the river that is about 30mins away by car. then another one also emerged. we concentrated on the first one. it looked exactly like what you filmed, except it was also about 30 mins away from where we were standing. then it went into this balloon-like shape and came towards us.  in the end it passed RIGHT BY US (it took about 2 mins to get there) and my friends were going ''oh look it's like a parachute!'' etc

That's pretty cool. If it was just a parachute there must have been some insane wind speed to blow it a distance that is normally 30 mins. away in just 2 mins. :) So maybe it isn't so easy to explain. Thanks for sharing.

it's kinda odd, but, okaii, this is weird even more seeing as i live in Scotland, but there was actually NO wind!! :S we went to see it the next day, it was a parachute thing, I'll post the video as a reply to this one.

This star appeared around about December time right after Christmas day for me, and the "Star" has since been seen around the world by many people, who've had their own very weird stories regarding these lights to tell! I dunno what it really is but one thing for sure there is definitely something going on Here! I guess we gotta wait and find out right?

Where I live now, here in the UK there is ALWAYS 3 or 4 red/orange flashing orbs(I say orbs because they appear to be round in shape and in rare cases morph!) of light that alternate between Blue, White and Green. every single night for 3 weeks now I've noticed them surrounding "THE STAR"..

I saw the same thing in Denmark 16 July. We saw it for about 3-4 min, and I can tell that its not a flare. A flare normally only works 40 sec. (Or google says so). What we saw didnt shoot any white light up in the skies tho.

And it seems like that it have been seen around the world in July 2009. So its weird.

And btw, we tryed to capture it on film, but it didnt show any light on the film. Weird.

Hi. The brighter light was slowly moving south and stayed at the same horizontal altitude when the white light launched. I'm pretty sure the white light went up and the red light stayed where it was. I tried following the white light with the camera and moved the camera up very quickly, plus I was zoomed in which made it even harder to hold the camera still. So that's why the brighter light kind of jerks around a little and gives the appearance of up and down movement.

Maybe leaving in that bit with my son is misleading. I shot the beginning footage about an hour earlier when we were sitting outside the tent. Then we went into the tent for the night, I turned off & zipped up the camera in my backpack, & we played video games on our DS's for about an hour. I noticed the light after that as we got ready to go to sleep. I DID get out the camera AFTER I saw it because the camera had been packed away for about an hour after the first part of the video was shot.

I live near St. Louis, in Illinois and on July 3 i saw a red ufo. Just under the cloud cover illuminating red light in the shape of an old norelco electric razor "face" 3 perfet red circles joined, red lines meeting a smaller red circle within the larger circles. 2 bright white lights near then they just disappeared The object was lit as if by NEON PIPING. Not solid red. The lines were so crisp and bright. I was nearly under the object. I'll check more comments later. Thanks

Haha... yeah. The reason I told him to "hold on" is that he was trying to climb out the door of the tent and kept bumping my arm. That's why the footage got so jerky for a few seconds.

Surprisingly he wasn't scared at all. He went right to sleep a few minutes later and slept a heck of a lot better than I did. :)

From the footage I kind of get the feeling that it might be some sort of small two stage rocket, launching upward and arching away from you.

It really didn't seem to move like a rocket when viewed with the naked eye. It moved straight to the south and the red light didn't change in size.

That said, I haven't ruled out the possibility that this could be some kind of firework or rocket, but it was in the air for over a minute total, the red light was extremely bright, and I just can't explain the white light coming out and moving quickly to the south in a straight line. Just weird.

Glad you liked the vid. I have indeed contacted MUFON and submitted a detailed report to the MUFON database. They said that a local field investigator will be contacting me for an investigation. I also submitted a similar report to NUFORC, but have yet to hear anything from them.

The brightness and corona effect of this light is exactly the same as a firework. There are many types of non-professional fireworks and many of them just shoot up and then poof, they are gone.

Thanks for the feedback. The fact that this was in the air for over a minute makes me think that it wasn't a firework (the red light was visible for about 20 seconds before I was able to get the camera up and running). Plus, the white light goes up, then changes direction and goes south. Nobody viewing this video has suggested a firework that moves like this. But if anyone knows of a firework with similar characteristics I'd love to hear about it.

A friend of mine saw this video and mentioned that it looks exactly like what flare guns do.

The red part does look similar to a flare. I've saw someone shoot up a military flare once and it was crazy bright. But when it expired though it just burned out. Take another look at how the red part moves very slowly, but the white part is moving very fast at 0:52 - 1:00. That's the part I have explaining away as a flare. The white object separated from the red object and then really sped up. Plus there was no wind that night. It was perfectly still. Is there such a thing as a 2-stage flare?

Are you sure that that other light comes out of it and shoots up? To me it looks like it might break up and then the larger part falls down. It's hard to tell because you were moving the camera zooming in on the smaller light. How long was the light visible total? Did you video tape the whole event or was it there longer?

Thanks for the comments. If I could film it over again I would have not zoomed in. :) That was a mistake, because without the treeline it's hard to see how it's moving.

The red light was actually there longer than the video shows... about 20-30 seconds. It just sortof appeared & moved sideways.

It is hard to tell which object goes which direction from the footage. However when I saw this it definitely seemed to me that the white light was ejected upward from the red light.

Highly doubtful. If it weren't for my dancing hand, you would have seen that they were moving too steadily. Plus the sky was clear, so there was no ceiling to bounce off of. I've lived in this area for 30 years (with countless nights of staring at the sky stargazing) and I have never seen anything remotely close to this.
