One of the most soulful songs I've ever heard. Beautiful piece of music. I came to this world one year later than this song, probably because of it. Utterly beautiful
Beautiful, Had a lovely girlfriend when I was a kid who was a huge fan, I was more into ACDC and ZEP than Janis. Later on i converted but she deserted, ah well
In 1976 when I met my husband he was a huge Janis Ian fan and got me hooked on her. He passed away in 2006 and whenever I listen to Janis sing it reminds me so much of him. Keep on singing Janis - you are awesome just like he was.
@LeeMike233 I'm very sorry for your loss. It's nice (and fitting) that you mention him here. His musical insight and your 30yr legacy are kept alive thru your testimony. It's not possible to stop loving someone after they've gone ~ you can only carry them with you thru the remainder of your life. Janis will, no doubt, always serve as a touch-stone for you now. Live well, Lee.
One of the best songs from one of the best albums of all time. What a shame that Gen- X and beyond are not aware of Janis' music. I thank God that I was there from the very beginning of her career. She has been a spiritual security blanket through the good and the bad. Her art should exist forever and be shared often.
Just been listening to the great Cover, Dusty Springfield did, with this song.. Check out Janis "Stars" on my facebook, c/w stunning photos Chris a Sawyer
love this.. It's heartbreaking.. Sounds weird to say you love something because it is heartbreaking..But I mean to say that it really touches how vulnerable we really are...
always loved this song, I noticed the pics u put in it, was this song in a movie I never saw ? I always like to see when great music I like is used in a movie ..thx for posting
when I first heard this haunting songstress , I fell in love with her then as well still, true talent is ageless , the time bandit has been cheated , lol, miss ian has eluded him in immortality, in song and her life, . . from russell the wizzard
@ahitler1000 Janis is getting ready for her Japan Tour, in Early 2011, & is very much alive & kicking. Still sounding great today, as shes always been.

What's the art that goes with this? Interesting. Janis was very kind to my son years back, talked to him backstage before the show in NYC.
