Everyone who cares this song is on the Saginaw Michigan Album from 1964 I believe. Other than the title track, there are other good songs on that album. Like, WHAT GOOD DID YOU GET OUT OF BREAKING MY HEART, THERE'S NO FOOD IN THIS HOUSE, IT MEANT GOODBYE TO ME (WHEN SHE SAID HELLO TO HIM, THROUGH THE EYES OF A FOOL, I WAS COMING HOME TO YOU, DON'T LET HER SEE ME CRY, all classic Lefty Frizzell.
flashbell...looking for another rarity from lefty.....it's titled "the marriage bit" from the late 60s.....or if you know where I can find it, I would appreciate it. thank you and thank for for this post.......
Do you know what year this was recorded? The song is wonderful, by a great singer, but it sure reminds me of "She Thinks I Still Care" by George Jones. I know this is a particular "Genre" of a certain Country Music era, but, boy, this is close!
We have a book that lists all charted country singles from 1944 ~ 1993 and this is not listed. It must have been an album filler. I would guess it was recorded mid-60s because during that time Lefty had a completely different sound (better in my opinion), then his early recordings he made for Columbia.
I've been a Lefty fan for years and never heard this song until a few days ago when I was in a traditional music store. I got out to my car, turned around, went back in and bought it. This is Lefty exemplified.
i have to agree with you all

Is this the great Floyd Cramer on piano? Much of Lefty's best material wasn't released as singles and this is an example. Shame on his producers.
