  • y do they come up wit these shit cyclone names, y not CYCLONE YOUR FUCKED

  • :( I went to Queensland to help Queensland and it was Scary :(

  • bill murray at 0:51

  • It looks from this video that there was no damage, one video said it was downgraded to a cat.1. Very happy Yasi didn't hit populated areas.Australia had enough to deal with.

  • @mysty0 am kinda wondering if it wasnt as bad as Tracy why did everyone leave Cardwell and surrounding areas. Oh and you forgot to mention Larry as well he did a number on Innisfail .. also Darwin is a City not a small town think if Larry or Yasi had of hit Townsville or Cairns you would of seen more destruction than what Tracy caused to Darwin !!!

  • you were pissed when yuou heard no one died? what sort of human being are you? a ruthless one i think.

  • i was pissed when i heard no1 died

  • wouldn't be hard to find a decent bird to snuggle at that shelter

  • all cyclones are bad> Tracy hit in early hours on Christmas morning( so there goes the religion theory) when it was due to head in another direction. There was no warning. It devastation changed the building codes forever. Yasi was far bigger , but unleashed on a much better educated and prepared population that was also much smaller in number than Darwin. The education came from the deaths of Tracy. "Santa never made it to Darwin" was a song on the AM radios of the time.

  • I am still trying to get information about Yasi, as we had no power for a week. It hit us but we where ok no damage, just helping others.

  • but think of this, how much shit did Larry clean out, now imagine if that shit had of been airbourne during this cyclone!

  • Cyclone Tracy was far worse with 71 dead and hundreds injured. Wind gusts reach in excess of 300Km. Steel I beam powerpoles were bent and twisted. 90%of all homes completely destroyed.

Cyclone Tracy was a smaller system in size, but not in power and devastation.

  • @HorseLoberr Cyclone tracy was less powerful that yasi, with gusts only up to around 240kph making it a category 4 system. Tracy caused so much devastation due to the rapid expansion of Darwin in the 20 years before cyclone Tracy and the fact that houses thee were not built to a category 4 standard. Many of the residents did ot prepare for Tracey due to their being little waring, that Christmas was the next day and that cyclone Selma had been forecast to hit Darwin earlier in the

  • @HorseLoberr month, but had missed. Tracy was also moving at about 8 kilometers per hours, compared to yasi's 30 or so. The main reason Tracy was so much more devastating was due to lack of education...not because it was equally as powerful as Yasi, as that just isn't true.

  • Wow!!!!

  • Us Australians will do what we always do in times of peril, harden the fuck up.

  • Yasi is soooo DTF ;)

  • I live in Aussie and I think old should tuffen up and there is a 23 year old man dead

  • @Roj899 You dont believe in Jesus?

  • @Roj899 dumbest comment on youtube.. thats a big prize to win well done.

  • Thats not even real footage of yasi, in queensland...

  • @A55kicked yes it is

  • did it even flood, i dont think it didnt, i thik the news are bull shitting...

  • did it even flood, i dont think it did, i thik the news are bull shitting...

  • @Roj899 ...... Yes Christian Fundamentalists can be a little nuts! As they say a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. If you want to read a good check out Karl Keatings book, "Catholism and Fundamentalism". PAX CHRISTI

  • I'm glad there is no death.

God bless the place! May you recover quickly. :D

  • is it right to jam your ignorant beliefs down peoples throat? "christians" no one cares about your bullshit

  • Its how a display of Gods power also shows his mercy.

  • @MrSuperiority Cyclone Tracy still hold the record for destruction me thinks =)

  • @mysty0 Yes, Tracy has been the worst cylone in Australia anyway...far, far worse than Yasi.

  • @mysty0 That's because back then the houses were not cyclone proof, and people didn't have much warning. We had at least a week of preparing our houses/property... I can tell you from experiencing Yasi that it was a fierce storm and would have been deadly if it was back in 1974 then there would have been more damage to houses/property and even worse...peoples lives!

  • @kiwimumma84 Well then.., we're gunna have to agree to disagree then. However if you wiki Tracy you will see a stobie pole turned into a twistie by Tracy.., sorry., Yasi was a warm fart in a cold breeze compared to that ;)

  • @mysty0 Don't get me wrong...Tracy was a dangerous cyclone, what I am saying is Yasi was a terrifying storm, that could have been much worse if it was to hit back in 1974. I don't think saying it was a "warm fart" would please too many people who have been affected by it!

  • I'm stunned there was so little structural damage. Yasi, from satellite, looked like a huge, ferocious beast coming ashore in the darkness that threatened to scour the land clean. Either buildings and trees are rougher and tougher Down Under, or there were very few tornadic vortices spawned by this storm. At any rate, it worked out well for Qlnd in the end.

  • @SeeTimeRun391 Ever since Cyclone Tracy all buildings have had to built to Cat 3, most are built stronger tho.. Yasi didn't do as much damage as they expected because it turned at the very last hour and headed away from major cities and tore a few smaller ones in half.

  • is it right to reject GOD????? ask the prime minister gillian. 2 down

  • WOW is all i have to say

my heart goes out to those whos houses are damaged this is shocking

  • knew it was exaggerated :L to this day nothing beats Hurricane Andrew.

  • @adzyb69 Andrew was more devastating because of the way it hit, not at the total strength it hit. It went right through Florida, caused something like 26 + tornadoes, mostly not all that significant. F0 F1s, with only a few larger ones. Restrengthened in the Golf of Mexico, then hit us again. Total tornadoes till it was all said and done, I believe, were better then 38 tornadoes. Again, mostly not very significant ones, being mostly F0 and F1s.

Hurricanes don't cause tornadoes is a myth.

    Fieve.

  • sorry about that,bu the name is really strange

  • i dont know what to say anymore.. you guys have had pretty screwed up month.. i am really glad no one has died as of yet. ive been watching qld on tv the past few weeks..what next??

  • @B0N0FAN ahh we'll be rigghhht. after all this rain and storms we'll probly get a few years of drought. ;)

  • @B0N0FAN people did die in the floods in qld at the start of january :(
