Incredible that they could still sound THIS good 40 years later! I was about 15 when this came out and I remember being blown away by it. Never imagined a Supremes song could sound this different and HEAVY YY haha
I saw Vanilla Fudge and Blue Oyster Cult front row at a Narcotics Annonymous party and almost relapse with RUDY SARZA!!! They still rock after all these years!!!
@hardrockguy yea, they did!! I was in a band "sound mach" and we played this song in our set. Ray Rhodes had a hammond B-3, and it was KICK-FUCKING-ASS!!!
Let's all drop some acid and chill !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Watch the walls move round and round. I miss the days when this type of music was so popular. They still sound great!
January 18 2008... almost exactly 40 years after they played this song on the Ed Sullivan show (Jan. 14 1968). Too bad the camera work in the '08 clip is the worst since the invention of video.
@genman57 Why the sarcastic remark? I was replying to duxberry and he incorrectly said the song was first done by Diana Ross. It wasn't; it was done by the Supremes. Diana Ross also had a solo career after the Supremes and if you say Diana Ross did it first, it implies she did it as a solo number. She didn't. It was a Supremes song; NOT a Diana Ross song.
Loved this band. First saw in Hawaii at the Honolulu International Center, HIC, back in 1970. Later around 1971-72, another band rose out of the ashed of Vanilla Fudge called, Beck, Bogart and Appice. Great 3 piece power rock trio.......
Hmmn, The Outstanding Musical Genre` ....like their Premier on the Ed Sullivan T.V. Programme. IS Tim Boggert Still alive? I Noticed Hes' Not in This Video from the Anaheim NAMM Convention. Mark STEIN has Straightened his Hair, Vinnie MARTEL has Grown his hair Fuller, and got heavier glasses , CarMine APPICE has Gained weight and stopped Pumpin' Iron...however,Hes' Still VERY alive and Able on the Drums ! Wheres' Tim?? ! The " FUDGE can Still BAKE 'EM UP !!
music was so incredible back then i didnt even think of drugs or alcohol.... its wasnt until after experiencing the greatest musical times ever... james brown 1968, iron butterfly 67 my elbows were on the stage...leon russell 69, 3 dog night 69...dissapointed in anything that came along after that i had to have something, entertainment and synthetic, liquid entertainment! yeah!
Good morning, do you like sixties? Listen and pod cast my program " great sound of 60' s " on the site plumfm. Greeting and made blooper in rock and roll. Salut, vous aimez les sixties ? Ecoutez et podcatez mon émission "le super son des sixties" sur plum fm. Salut et faites gaffe au rock'n roll.
Thanks for uploading, people still sleep on these, fuckin excellent band,Mark Stein killer voice.Thank fuck we have video,or we would never have heard of them.
No shit must've been the same shitty production company that traveled with The Who for decades and made sure we never saw John Entwistle rip Townshend a new one every night.
Veteran musicians and singer play a hot rendition of the most unique arrangement of a Supremes song ever; originally recorded by Vanilla Fudge in 1967. Thank you for posting. I guess I'll have to check out the convention!
Yo estoy contentos que ellos todavia esten tan lucidos despues de tanto acido, y que sui musica sea tan buena como la que hacian en los queridos años 60's.
Original members: Vinnie Martell on lead guitar, Carmine Appice on drums..... that's Bill Pascall doing a terrific job on the lead vocals & keyboards - couldn't see who the bass player was....Pete Bremy?
If Vinnie, Carmine and Bill are there, you can bet thats Tim Bogert on Bass. Apparently this video is focused more on Bill because he is singing the song. Carmine is a close personal friend of me and my wifes. I dont understand why the video doesnt focus on him as much. But ok, at least show Tim on Bass. Last I saw and partied with these guys is a few years back at the House of Blues in Hollywood, Ca.
Wow this isn't what i was expecting. I saw vanilla fudge at Ramshead (not ramshead live that is :) ). It was all 4 original guys and they sounded just amazing. In this video they sound like, well crap. I hope all 4 come back around again, I would see them in a heart-beat.
