Besides, Lucasarts represents something along the lines of movies and well-written story/dialogue. SCUMM engine still works (and the midi iMuse stuff still has potential). MI special edition will be just as magical an experience to newcomers as it was back then. Esp. young kids will love this, eventhough it's for all ages. With (very) little work, they could turn SCUMM into a next-gen engine platform for next-gen 2D adventure games yet to come.

Yes, it's cool. it'll be great to see people play monkey island on their xbox. if it catches on, lucasarts might consider doing not only the MI2 remake, but also going back to making new types of 2D adventures. After all, it's as close as playing a movie you can get, and it requires you to think. That a console has 3D hardware, doesn't mean every game has to be 3D. 2D works better for adventure games, infinitely more charm.
