  • Sooooo how did he do it!!!!

  • one of my favorite films, i love his vision

  • I love Michel Gondry!!! -3

  • It's a combination of an ames room, forced perspective, and enlarged prop designs. #####Alice in Wonderland?

  • Whats wrong with Michel Gondry!!!!?? I hate him!! He makes me feel like a donkey...

  • tres beau!

  • ESTE EFECTO ES EL DE ETERNO REPLANDOR DE UNA MENTE SIN RECUERDO

  • I freaking love Gondry.

  • how did you do that

  • Forced Perspective is always fun to watch

  • Umm does someone want to explain what the guy was talking about? I couldn't understand a word he was saying...

  • That was in Eternal Sunshine my bitches

  • i think the title must be "illusion" rather than camera trick

  • lol before he ran back there, i didnt expect ANYTHING lol

  • thats so cool

  • What bull shit. There is no Trick with the camera. Honestly I am getting tired of gondry.

  • @Leprutz Well, no one's askin' you to watch his stuff, amigo. :)

  • Oh, and I forgot to mention, the table itself give sthe impression that it is squared but it has at least 2 meters in lenght. The fridge is on some kind of a higher base, but when the guy is in front, the fridge looks normal in size. I guess you can all figure out the rest! :)

    YES, the perspective is great!

  • Look at 0:42 and the table's back feet which are taller than those in the front. :)

I like it that you put some bits of sounds from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind :).

  • Michel Gondry is a fucking genious!

  • would it not be easier just to get a small person to sit under a normalsize table ? :)

  • so easy to do!!!!!

  • Force Perspective. Nice vid tho!

  • aah incredibile o_o

  • What a fantastic set! I would love to be there.

  • where is this clip taken from please?? i wanna see the whole thing :)

  • @agentm00se eternal sunshine of the spotless mind.

  • easy work but hard effect!

  • is called forced perspective

  • hey how did u do this i like dat effect

  • Eternal Sunshine. Best movie of all time

  • oh yea i paused at :42 and now i totally get it, thanks for the tip.

  • i swear i went " fuck no".... amazing perspective there. captivating.

  • It's called the Ames Room and it ain't invented by Gondry.

  • guandhi did it

  • The Ames room is only an example of this effect. Forced perspective may not have been invented by Gondry, but he sure uses it well.

  • pause at 0:42 notice that the refrigerator, stove, and everything else is huge.. thats the trick

  • why do you have to pause at 42? the background is in shot for the entire video?

  • OMFG this is the same set in his movie.

"Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind"

Watch it. They made Jim Carey small here xD!

  • So simple yet so amazingly incredible. Gondry is a genius!

  • can any1 tell me how this is done, is it mealry that the furniture changes size while michal stay the same size?

  • haha no, it's a perspective illusion. The room (made of wrong shaped items & a backdrop) has been set up so all the elements look normal from the point of view of the camera. They have been skewed dramatically, yet their corner pins still align to the perspective lines coming directly from the camera. move the camera anywhere else and everything would look very wonky.

"Puzzle world wanaka" has a room like this people can play in, search for that if you still need examples to understand.

  • I've been there! Its madness. They got heapsa buzzy stuff there

    Nice explanation

  • the table is the illusional prop -- the cabinets are all uniformly huge -- notice m gondry has to make quick jumps to the back of the table in what would be 2 steps -- like 4-5 ft. for the average kitchen table. the way the table is elevated in the back so you can roll oranges down it -- i think that is the best evidence. the back of the table is much larger than the front.

  • AWESOME AWESOME!!

  • perspectiva...los objetos de atras son mas grandes de lo que parecen

  • lol look at the room in the back to the left... its like a picture lol

  • i had to fully turn up the volume of windows to hear something^^

  • Trippy.

  • I LOVE IT, p****n, c'est cool. Ca me fait eclater. Je veux mon cuisine comme ca. Imagine - les voisins arrivent pour boire un cafe.

  • i didn't expected that xD

  • he uses these same tricks in his new film Tokyo!

  • where? i saw no such trick in that specific talkie! TELL ME NOW RUFFIAN LEST I GUFFAW!

  • the countertops in the background ruin the illusion

  • its not a camera trick, the room is set out 2 be like that. theres a name 4 it but i cant remember anymore

  •

  • wtf?

i rememberd, i think its called ames room.

  • The camera trick is that the room is like that.

I guess a better way to say it is "Perspective Trick"

  • @AirNikeNick23 specifically, forced perspective

  • @LISdafreestyler ýe it í , and it's not a camera trick

  • @LISdafreestyler Didn't he use that for the "Denial Twist" video?

  • @LISdafreestyler No the room is taller at the other side.

  • @dandyboy1 What "no"? I said it was the ames room already..

  • @LISdafreestyler It's called "Forced Perspective."

  • Yea, the forced prespective of an ames room.

  • @LISdafreestyler "forced perspective"

  • @LISdafreestyler It's called Forcing Perspective.

  • @LISdafreestyler Forced perspective, I believe.

  • @LISdafreestyler

It's forced perspective, like they used on Lord of the Rings. Similar for definite.

  • @LISdafreestyler the term you are looking for is called "Forced perspective"

  • WTFFF MY HEAD JUST DIVIDED BY ZERO

  • LOL

  • es alucinante

    lo de Gondry,

es el puto amo y asi deberían de reconocerselo,

que no creo que lo este, suficientemente.

cada video que hace consigue emocionarte, y pensar joder como lo consigue!!

  • Michael Gondry is the fucking man.

  • cool

  • i love this man!!!

  • oh mah gahd.

  • Effing genius

  • wahahaha

  • i like the way gondry uses basic camera techniques in clever ways to get effects which look professional. hes a genius!

  • no, these DON'T LOOK professional. these ARE professional. :)

  • this is done in very cool way :)
