It is a part of history and the concert was a fund raiser to finance a statue of Bon Scott in Fremantle which stand there today. Every member of the band is proud of that and John Brewster never tried to be Doc and he did a great job for those 7 years.
I LOVE Angel City (As they were called here in Canada) and my recording band used cover this song, (I'd put on a beret whilst I spoke the Francais bit), and do a bit of Chuck Berry duck walk during the lead players wank.

I was in a local band at the time called Lip Service. Paul Raymond (UFO's keyboard player) kept following me around all night. It was so well received the band ended up touring and performing over 400 shows in Australia and New Zealand to very appreciative audiences. Listen to the crowd man. Every single person new Doc was not there. Can you hear any complaints form them?
I saw these guys during this tour and they rocked! am going to see them again on July 23rd, this time with Doc back with them, it's going to be an awesome night!! Can't wait!!!

The biggest mistake the band did was to promote Doc as being the face of the band because his departure really meant the end of the band. The bulk of the Angels songs were written by Rick and John so they had every entitlement to go out and make a living. No one saw the other band members as personalities so it is difficult to accept someone else sing in Doc's absence.

I last saw the Angels in 1991 at the Palace in St Kilda. Doc, Rick, John, Brent and Bob absolutely blew the top off the venue. Its good to see Rick is still the best lead guitarist Australia has ever produced. As for the lead singer, ther's only one Doc and therefore only one Angels.

ACDC were fine - but The Angels were better - why the fuck they never made it as big or bigger - well, things don't always make sense. The Angels were the best of the best anywhere ever.

My old band, Chemistry, used to cover this tune and "No Secrets" back in the mid-Eighties. Angel City/Angels - still rocking in 2007? WOW !
