is this professional? why has it never been released? Bang You're Dead is actually my favorite Bette Midler song... i play the crap out of my Live At Last recording
I love this song! I wonder what the origin of it is. I wish Bette would sing this song again! She's fantastic! I saw her in Las Vegas- Definitely worth it!
As I helped her back up on stage I held onto her hand & she said,"LET GO!" I told her, "Only for a kiss Miss M." She said, "OK, KISS THIS." She turned around, put her hands on her waist, bent over & shoved her ass at me. I grabbed it with both hands, kissed it & THE CROWD ROARED!!! She didn't need drugs, she was high on life, as she wrote in her book, A View From A Broad next to her name when I got it signed by her.
I WAS THERE THAT NIGHT! actually A drunk was heckling her. I was seated next to the stage at my table. She said, "MaterD, we have seating for 20 in this man's mouth." He kept on. She said, "Honey, HOLD YOUR TABLE" In her stilletos she steped onto my table until was on the table in front of the drunk. She squatted down, shook her big finger in his face & said, "IF YOU DON'T SHUT THE FUCK UP I'M GONNA HAVE YOUR DRUNKEN ASS THROWN OUT OF HERE...DO YOU UNDERSTAND?" HE SHUT UP.
No hahaha Man I was thinking that before when I was watching The Story of Nanette. Just the way she moves and her mannerisms... Reminded me of Amy Winehouse.
@Davylp - The only similarity I see between the two, is a similarity in styles, meaning=they both love GOOD music, as opposed to any particular favorite style that they stick to. If it's good, and touches the soul, they will sing it, and deliver it. But Ms. Amy has a long way to go before she conquers all of the demons that Midler has...and Amy will need an anchor of strength like Bette's husband Martin, to ultimately survive, as the business of show is much more cutthroat now.
Bette, I can see your light shining, what a great show, please post more from the Roxy show, I have only seen poor quality versions before your wonderful posts, thanks so much for sharing these rare Miss M moments!!!

Am I the only one who thinks Amy Winehouse reminds me of her, Not so much voice, but looks etc.

@Alvin4NY I meant looks wise when Bette was younger... All that other stuff is extra. I just meant looks.

Any clip of her from the 70s she's high on it. I used to think this song was "Bangladesh."
djjazzyjosh78 3 years ago
hahaha... i never thought that but can totally see where you would get that. many people ask me if she was on drugs in the 70's.
stphncrmr 3 years ago
EVERYONE was on drug of some sort in the 1970`s. I don`t think Miss M was any where as high as most. She`s 64 now and still kicking ass, on ginko!
