(his twin brother dat mai would always encounter) and mai realizes ...that she wasn't in love with NARU but with the Gene, with his soothing smile...there's a possibility that Gene as well fell in love with Mai but when his body was found he could no longer appear in Mai's dreams,

The manga is still ongoing, and theres a chance there might even be an ova or something, I loved this anime and I cried when they ended it. I also looked at the original author's (Fuyumi Ono) books she hasn't written anything since like 2002! No offence to her or anything I love reading her books like shiki corpse demon and ghost hunt (the last updated one 'white heart series) but she should get off her ass and write! we should make a petition or something.

...It would be nice, but incredibly doubtful. I'm beginning to think that anime is just a way of advertising manga. From my experience, they usually stop halfway through the story (and in Skip Beat!'s case, half way through a story arc).

One of the few exceptions would have to be Mai Hime though, because the anime mops the floor with the manga.

Not sure if you're familiar with the manga of Ghost Hunt as well as the anime, but the reason I picked this song was due to Mai being literally haunted by Gene, as well as a handy metaphor for Mai's relationship with Naru :)

Though the clip LOOKS like a serious amv, it was born out of an ironic sense of humour :)

@mayurei i've read all the chapters of the manga, but i'm confused, which chapter do they mention Gene? i know who he is but do they actually mention him or is it that you know that he's there. :S sorry for the confusing question :(

I thought John mentioned Oliver Davis having a brother at some point, but I'm having trouble finding it. Either way, Gene is directly mentioned on page 64 of volume 10. I still haven't been able to get my hands on anything past volume 11, though I have read various translated sections, etc.

Not sure what chapter number it would be, but there's usually at least 4 chapter's per volume, so at a guess, somewhere around chapter 40 or 50. Does that help at all?

now that i carefully listend to the song, i can see where you are coming from.

at first i saw it as like the haunting being a stalking. like Gene or Naru is stalking her (in her dreams and in r/l) but the haunting clicks in a lot more.

i like it eveen more now <3(:

im VERY familiar with the manga more than the anime, since i think the anime is just an outline of the manga. :D

Pretty much all of them...

I've done 3 ghost hunt amv's and tried to stay away from re-using the same footage, so it's hard to remember, but I do know that I didn't use the last episode in this clip, or the one where Mai gets possessed by Kenji (I think it's episode 11 and 12, but not sure).
