Everytime I watch these type of videos, I look at the number of likes and dislikes. I Always find that the number of likes are greater than the dislikes. More proof of how Islam is growing Alhumdulillah!
I am afraid that may not be entirely true. I think likes are way greater than dislikes cause these sites are mostly viewed only by Muslims. Most non Muslims are either not iterested or just busy thinking its a reiligion of terrorists. We need to think of ways to break this barrier and invite them to see the true beauty of our Islam. @jibn86 To me book appears to have been built on Jewish/Christian tradition mixed with scientific understanding from the ancient clasical world. The knowledge of ancient Greeks may have been lost from northern Europe but it was still in circulation in the Middle East. So Islam did have something of head start when it came to science.

But some of the scientific proofs presented in the Quran would not have been discovered without machines. Machines that took decades/centuries to understand and build, machines that did not exist back in the ancient world.

And the human brain is a powerful machine in it's own right. People in ancient times had rational philosophy and knowlege based on observation of empirical evidence. If there is genuine sciencific knowledge in the Koran it's because science in some fom did exist back then, particularly in that part of the world.
Found their way back to Europe? they were lost. Thousands of years of civilization was simply lost due to ignorance. All we know of the ancient world is taken from small artifacts and sparse evidence found through archeology and such. The science i'm taking about actually requires machines; i.e. how God said that Earth was an oval, he didn't say sphere, even though scientists needed 20 centuries to figure the sphere part out, and another century to build a spaceship for the oval part.

And it turns out that the Earth is kind of an uneven potato shape. Had the Koran made statements concerning the Earth orbiting the sun, the age of the universe, Newtons theory of gravity, Darwins theory of evolution and Einsteins theory of relativity I'd be convinced.
The Quran did mention the orbiting of the planets. And Darwin's theory is the Anti-God theory. So that wouldn't work. Its not only Greek and Roman history that were lost. Theres Sumeria, Phoenicia Mesopotamia, Egypt, etc.
The age of the universe as we say it is, is a theory not fact. God in parts of the Quran actually says HOW he created Earth, nothing specific but some details about it. Besides if God had dictated mankind science, what would there be left for us to discover?

If God wanted to create a universe where evolution takes place over many billions of years then he would it's not for us to say what he can't do. I don't believe Jesus was God though. We share 98% of our DNA with chimps and we have remains of prehistoric humans who were half way between us and our more ape like ancestors. So it's safe to say that we are a product of evolution much like anything else. I believe in secularity, seperating religious institutes from governmental institutes. The problem I see is that in a lot of Islamic countries, this seperation isn't implemented at all (Iran), or it is problematic at best (even Turkey has problems). Very often, there are also human rights violations in these countries.
I would highly recommend against using Iran as an example for almost anything Islamic. If i begin with the crap they're doing i'd never end. Muslim by name, rarely by action. As for Secularity, i agree with you. in Islam, religion has very little to do with the government. It doesn't control much. Only limits some trading (i.e. Alcohol / Pork) but otherwise, for the most part it says that it must be democratic, no dictatorships allowed and not to provoke other countries.

There are moderate muslims and extremists, just as there are christians who dislike all non-christians as well as moderate ones. Do I dislike religion? Yes. Do I dislike the people? No not usually, they're mostly well intentioned people, but also relativists.
To have a good understanding of any religion, you have to have basic knowledge of it. The Bible preaches absolute peace and love to all people. If a Christian does an act of violence, it is because of a choice he made, not because of Biblical VERSES. On the other hand, if a Muslim commits violence it is because of violence-inciting verses in the Quran. Do a little reading about the history of Christians and Muslims and you will get more understanding.

Most non Muslims are either not iterested or just busy thinking its a reiligion of terrorists. We need to think of ways to break this barrier and invite them to see the true beauty of our Islam. The knowledge of ancient Greeks may have been lost from northern Europe but it was still in circulation in the Middle East. So Islam did have something of head start when it came to science.

And the human brain is a powerful machine in it's own right. People in ancient times had rational philosophy and knowlege based on observation of empirical evidence. If there is genuine sciencific knowledge in the Koran it's because science in some fom did exist back then, particularly in that part of the world.

All we know of the ancient world is taken from small artifacts and sparse evidence found through archeology and such. The science i'm taking about actually requires machines; i.e. how God said that Earth was an oval, he didn't say sphere, even though scientists needed 20 centuries to figure the sphere part out, and another century to build a spaceship for the oval part.

And it turns out that the Earth is kind of an uneven potato shape. Had the Koran made statements concerning the Earth orbiting the sun, the age of the universe, Newtons theory of gravity, Darwins theory of evolution and Einsteins theory of relativity I'd be convinced.

The Quran did mention the orbiting of the planets. And Darwin's theory is the Anti-God theory. So that wouldn't work. Its not only Greek and Roman history that were lost. Theres Sumeria, Phoenicia Mesopotamia, Egypt, etc.
The age of the universe as we say it is, is a theory not fact. God in parts of the Quran actually says HOW he created Earth, nothing specific but some details about it. Besides if God had dictated mankind science, what would there be left for us to discover?

There was a Greek philosopher who put the Sun at the centre but no-one took him seriously at the time. And evolution isn't an Anti-God theory, if you read the origin of species you'll see that Darwin believed in God himself as there are frequent mentions of the Creator in there. But the bear minimum I'd want to see mentioned in the Koran is the Earth orbiting the sun, along with the shape of it

We share 98% of our DNA with chimps and we have remains of prehistoric humans who were half way between us and our more ape like ancestors. So it's safe to say that we are a product of evolution much like anything else. I believe in secularity, seperating religious institutes from governmental institutes. The problem I see is that in a lot of Islamic countries, this seperation isn't implemented at all (Iran), or it is problematic at best (even Turkey has problems). Very often, there are also human rights violations in these countries.
So, is there really no connection at all?

I would highly recommend against using Iran as an example for almost anything Islamic. If i begin with the crap they're doing i'd never end. Muslim by name, rarely by action. As for Secularity, i agree with you. in Islam, religion has very little to do with the government. It doesn't control much. Only limits some trading (i.e. Alcohol / Pork) but otherwise, for the most part it says that it must be democratic, no dictatorships allowed and not to provoke other countries.

To have a good understanding of any religion, you have to have basic knowledge of it. The Bible preaches absolute peace and love to all people. If a Christian does an act of violence, it is because of a choice he made, not because of Biblical VERSES. On the other hand, if a Muslim commits violence it is because of violence-inciting verses in the Quran. Do a little reading about the history of Christians and Muslims and you will get more understanding.
