  • I wonder what its feathers feel like. ^__^

  • @RoseTsukiyomi prolly like feathers...

  • @vhulheim Well actually i have found that not all feathers have the same textures. ^^ some are soft like silk and others like velvet or even simple cotton. Soft none the less but how soft is really the question. But wild birds can have coarse feathers so hence my question/wondering. ^_^ X3

  • FCUK :@ BE CAREFULLLLLLLLLL!

  • That Owl is like "Dude..WTF are you doing to me"

  • I WANT ITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT..!!

  • 1:40 Get away from there! No touchy! Not appropriate touch!

Having bigger hands make owls a bit easier to handle when doing the wing chord -- sometimes I wish I had bigger hands like this guy.

  • I did some saw whet owl banding tonight, sooo cute and soft and for the most part timid.

  • 0.31

    "Dude...seriously? ..wtf"

  • @Thewhiteandorange Its so the owl doesnt fly away when they weigh it.

  • AAWWWWW HE'S SOO CUUTEEE AND LEETTLLEEE

    *dead*

  • aww hes adorable, and hes being to well behaved!!

  • I know this may sound ignorant, but what does it mean whens someone 'bands an owl?'

  • @mondenkindqueen They put a tracker on it to monitor it's migration.

  • @littleladycherry Thank you, I had no idea. Have a nice day.

  • Owl-in-a-Can available at your local owl distributor.

  • cute owl

  • Notice how it was calm and almost not clicking UNTIL it was the time to band it.

I think they know our intentions. Just saying.

  • That is indeed a wild owl. Saw-whets, for some reason, are quite docile when handled; at most they will click their beaks in mild irritation. Once in a great while you'll get one that bites, but you're far more likely to accidentally get "footed." I didn't get a good look at the owl's molt pattern, so I'm not sure how old this particular bird is. Anyway, I miss saw-whet banding so much! I believe our final count for this past season (Sept 20-Nov 10) was 503 birds. Go Wisconsin! :-)

  • I'm also working on the owl project with a researcher and I just wanted to say good luck! We've caught 300 or so this season.

  • One of the things I want to do before I die is pick up one of those little guys. They're so cute!

  • 0:35 - CANNED OWL!

  • is it wild? its so tame... doesnt bite. and holds really still he put it in a cup -_-

  • What was the age?

  • Was that the owl making the clicking noise?

  • yeah that was the owl making the clicking noise

  • Excellent job banding the fella.
