Tonight Show - Jay Leno and the Emmy dress

I like Jay Leno and i like Conan O'Brien and i like David Letterman. Oh btdubs Ferguson is taking over the late show after Letterman leaves.

also johnny carson never appeared on leno after leno took over.

@blinkfan87 First of all, it's easy to see that you're a Conan fan because you can't even spell.  Second of all, who cares about Howard Stern's opinion. Third of all, Johnny Carson is better than Leno and Letterman.

Leno is better than Letterman but not as good as Carson.

@italkart24racer OK it looks like we have a bit of a disagreement going on here. Yes I know Jay "big jaw" leno has been winning the ratings over dave for years. But if you remember the late night wars every celebrity and talk show host was supporting Conan.

Please tell me that You weren't one of the fans that watched the Jay Leno show at 10pm or still watch his show now.

@blinkfan87 Every talk show host and celebrity was supporting Conan because they all thought he was getting "screwed" by NBC. The problem is Conan's lack of talent is what screwed him over. I have seen his show and tried to give him a chance but it seems that Conan's fans need something off the wall and stupid to happen in order for it to be funny. Now I know that he has a younger age group so obviously slapstick comedy is what is going to make them laugh.

@italkart24racer Continued. The rest of America doesn't need that type of comedy in order for them to laugh. Yes I have always watched Leno and I still do. Also, I'm 18 years old so you can't say that I am old and don't understand what Conan fans laugh at.

@italkart24racer O.K. now I dont want to be rude but 18 and watching jay leno :(. Anyway I will be honest most of Conans fans are College/University Kids and most 18-35 year olds. Yes I know Letterman audience is mostly 40+ but back when he was on in the 80's he was getting the college kids in. In my opinion Jay has lost a lot of respect from the entertainment industry for what he and nbc did to conan.,

At least Conan has a new show now.

Lets hope Jimmy fallon does not get the same treatment

@blinkfan87 You know, Conan kind of did this to himself. If he would have waited to get The Tonight Show until Leno retired this wouldn't have been a problem. But he didn't. Leno didn't really want to leave but he did anyway for Conan. When NBC saw that Conan was tanking in the ratings (and he was) they figured, "Hey why not bring Leno back?"

Also, I bet this will happen, someday people will be saying "Conan sucks" because they are hooked on some younger so called "better" comedian.

@italkart24racer There is a book called The war for late night. It came our recently and it goes really in depth about the whole late night scandle. (it,s about 400 pages) but actually in 2004 nbc told jay that in 2009 that conan would be getting the tonight show. What I think happened is that nbc was so used to jay being number one and almost always beating letterman, that they panacked when they saw conan was at number 2. Also Jays crowd was always middle america and conan was very new york.

@italkart24racer (continued) The same thing is probably going to happen with jimmy fallon. When jay leaves (hopefully for good this time) Jimmy will probably take over and the ratings will end up going down again. Only difference is that the competition wont be letterman (I really dont know who it will be yet). So i guess we have to see and find out.

@italkart24racer (last part) also jay is 61 and probably only has 3 or 4 more years left to host. If jay had his way he would be hosting unitl he was in his late 70's like regis has did/has done.
