I just broke my clavicle 2 weeks ago also on a mtb bike. It's displaced and is pushing against my skin. Check my video. Did I need to get surgery?? Bcuz docs said I don't need one but it looks really bad. Please please reply. I really want to know what to do.
@rvrmouse Most of the fractures like yours they just let heal on their own. It takes about 6 weeks, and it will not look the same as the other side. You will have a bump there for years and years. If the bone segments do not start healing together, then that is called a "non-union" and may require surgery, but it may take a few weeks before the ortho doc knows the answer to that one.
@SurvivalMedicine Thanks alot for the reply. I saw an ortho today and he recommended surgery.. I dont know if i can explain this but The bone thats sticking out is sitting on top of a fragment and the fragment is sitting on top of the rest of the clavicle that goes to the shoulder (the fragment is sandwiched between the bones) Im thinking surgery but my dad doesn't really like the idea because their is alot of nerves & vessels that can easily be damaged during surgery. What do you think?
I broke mine about 53 years ago. I still remember my doc fitting me with a plaster of paris type rig that he made. Sort of like football shoulder pads. Had to wear it all summer. Better than leeches i guess...LOL Good info vid. Thanks
Doc, I look forward to every video you produce. It's so nice to gather some useful information as you share with us all. Another top production. Thanks.

Doc , could you do something on the Apendix Burst , if SHTF this will probley be a death sentence , without Surgery ?

@tracycolorado Without surgery, the best we could hope to do would be antibiotics and hope that the infection is not too uncontrolled.
