please please for the sake and the respect for the italian cuisine never say that what you cooked is ossobucco. the real italian ossobucco has nothing to do with what you cooked.please read a cooking book. first: never, but never use tomatoes, carrots,celery.the meat has to be just sealed over quick fire but then cooked with the rest of ingredients which are just garlic,lemon juice,lemon zest and couple of anchovies
@TheMrpalid You might not find veal shanks in all supermarkets all the time. Ask the butcher or find a more high end supermarket. Pretty expensive though.

@alexavisarion That's one recipe. Try mine for comparison. It may not meet the purest std for "real" osso bucco, but it is quite delicious!

@TheMrpalid It's not necessary to tie it unless the outer membrane is gone and the meat is falling off even before you brown it.
