You have a beautiful voice! Amazing! I saw you looking at the lyrics a bit during the song, and I think that you should've picked a song that you know a little better. This is definetely the time to do it, considering you can sing anything you want. Other than that, I'm excited to hear more of you!
You seem very sweet and deeply emotional. I don't detect 'stage' experience in your style, unless singing to the max set radio while cruising down the highway counts for that. Yet you have the guts to put yourself out there. I could be wrong, of course, but if that's true, this could be a decent place for you to grow some longing wings.
You're higher register relies a little to heavily on your head voice. However your tone is far more pleasant when it isn't shouty. Think colbie caillat. Keep it soft and pretty. Because that's ok despite what American Idol says.

yeah... the judges seem to prefer plain backdrops, I guess it just makes it seem more professional. And I actually like the glasses, but I guess that's just me lol

I probably would have picked something a lot more familiar for a first audition, but you did pretty good on this. you've got a potentially very powerful voice. You need to make sure that you don't barrel thru the lower notes which then makes the transition jarring when you go into your head voice.
