Very impressed with your remake. I am a huge John Barry fan but found this modern remake to be very very soothing and I keep playing it over and over again... Should have gone to bed an hour ago.. But the tune is worth the loss of sleep. Nice job

by the way, it sounds like Barry, when writing for the Persuaders, was influenced by music written for the the Godfather film(s) which were popular at that time...

I have to agree -- that heavy bass line is a critical element. However, this would make for a good incidental arrangement for a 'stealthier' moment -- when the bass would get in the way.

Why was it called "The Persuaders?"

dkfelix: Unlike a lot of shoot-em-up, hard fisted detectives and such that filled the airwaves, the "Persuaders" used finesse, deceptions, cons, etc., to perform their assignments. Both leads were rich playboys with empty lives, and were recruited for difficult "missions impossible" around the world. Little violence and a lot of cleverness made it a very entertaining show.

- yes very entertaining- I used to watch it on Danish TV in the mid-70ies as a 12 year old child and they did a long awaited rerun some years ago. Now you can se them on German TV (with dubbed German voices though.)

I agree with dlmiss. You'll never beat the original. By far and away the best theme music I've ever heard. Strangely enough the composer, John Barry was dismissive of this. At the time he didn't think it was much of a piece as music goes. How wrong you can be sometimes. Brilliant theme.

I did a cover of it twenty years ago...never released.but here hummmmnot so bad but it can be really better. Specially the arrangment . John barry was somebody that had a BIG talent for the instrumentation and the secret of the magyu was there.try again ...please.

The arrangement and the tempo of this track are EXACTLY the same as the original. It's the single version and not the TV theme version. If you did a cover of it then put up or shut up and let's hear it and we'll see who's holds up to scrutiny. Phew! Everybody's a critic.

This IS the problem, it is exactly the same arrangment that u did, but the magy of the instrumentation is not there. And i know that it's difficult to do what J barry did.But u choose to bring voices samples so why dont y try to go farder in other ways.... stay cool boabyp and continue to work. Not bad -- and I am very particular when it comes to rearranging classic music -- trying to make it fresh while not completely destroying the original is NOT easy. (Check out the 'new' version of "The Chipmunk Song" for an example of THAT.)

One 'complaint' -- there is a very definite music cue as to where "The Persuaders!" logo appears -- that was missed, but otherwise -- it FEELS pretty good.

the true mix doesn't come over very well when the sound is compressed down for youtube. The bass on the original is more pronounced and the drums aren't quite so isolated. But thanks for the feedback.
