I met dave haley the drummer last night at a local gig in melbourne. such a nice guy! he told me he was gonna get up at 6am the next morning to practice drums.
I don't like the voice too much (I generally find growls and their implications ridiculous), but I have to say the songs sticks in the remainder of my brain now for some weeks. Must be a great song :)

In terms of Dave's playing, the latest Psycroptic album is definitely his "simplest." If you want to hear Dave's creativity at its best, check out the first 3 Psycroptic albums: Isle of Disenchantment, Scepter of the Ancients, Symbols of Failure.
Dave is highly regarded among top metal drummers (Derek Roddy & George Kollias especially) as being the best extreme metal drummer there is today.

@FROZENPEES1 Not true, alot of these drummers are teachers and are able to play in multiple genres (though not all do so), to say that a drummer that is able to play that kinda is so one dimensional as to not fit with other genres is ridiculous.

I don't doubt this drummer is awesome, but whenever I listen to his amplifiers for his double bass, it always sounds like he's half a beat off a lot of times. Don't know why.

End result, the drums sound fine on the album and all previous albums. Seriously, you may have eyes but you might want to use your brain and ears a little more.

This is brilliant, (Ob)Servant reigns. I only have a couple of issues; the vocals are rarely rhythmic and percussive, a great deal of the time Jason simply sounds like he's yelling at something incoherently. And although I think it's admirable that they produce themselves, they really need to bring someone else in to do the next album; all of their records so far have, in terms of production, sounded like rehearsal demos.

I don't doubt this drummer is awesome, but whenever I listen to his amplifiers for his double bass, it always sounds like he's half a beat off a lot of times. Don't know why.

In all honesty though, all three bands just destroy. Proper Metal is proper Metal. Why be biased? There's plenty of brutality to satisfy everyone :D

@shadowfall21 Yeah, Psycroptic's drummer kicks ass, but you should check out the drummer for Keep of Kalessin. The guy...is a damn beast... o.o Look up their song Crown of the Kings. If I remember correctly, he came close as hell to setting a world record playing that song. Watch the behind-the-scenes shit on the special DVD available with their deluxe Kolossus album. Don't take this the wrong way though. I'm not bashing Psycroptic. They're one of my favourite tech death bands, but just because people like this band doesn't mean they have to over-exaggerate about the ability of their drummer.

@tswdrummercameron looks fine to me, he just has a different style. And this is just a video clip, not a live recording. The actual song was obviously recorded in a studio. End result, the drums sound fine on the album and all previous albums. Seriously, you may have eyes but you might want to use your brain and ears a little more.

This is brilliant, (Ob)Servant reigns. I only have a couple of issues; the vocals are rarely rhythmic and percussive, a great deal of the time Jason simply sounds like he's yelling at something incoherently. And although I think it's admirable that they produce themselves, they really need to bring someone else in to do the next album; all of their records so far have, in terms of production, sounded like rehearsal demos.
