The S63 engine is being replaced this summer 2010, it will hail a NEW 5.5L V8 biturbo with 571bhp and a 25% increase in fuel economy. So ANYONE think of purchasing the current model should haggle for a good price if possible. I'm not sure in the NEW S63 would be considered an 6.3L or the 5.5L. Either way say bye-bye to this vantastic engine.

By the way the C63 produces 451hp with a naturally aspirated hand built V8 while the BMW 750 needs two turbos to only produce 400hp. Also the the C63 has a 0-60 time of 4.3secs while the heavy turbo lag proned 750 lags behind in 5.2secs.

Actually the E90 M3 gets owned pretty badly by the C63 in straight line and top-end power.

The M3 would more than likely win on the track but its not even all that good for what it is. Car & Driver rated the Infiniti G37 a better track car than the new M3. So much for balance and engineering.

By the way its apparent that you don't know so let me inform you the C63 weight distribution is close to perfect @ 54/46.

Point is the M3 is not the best at what is does and is far from it. And I don't know what you consider "class of car", but the M3 is no longer what it used to be. Its a "grand touring saloon" as they call it... No longer a track special sports coupe.

Yea, you're absolutely right about the C63 weight distribution, it is better than M3, but last time I was in Stuttgart, they said that ideal distribution is 4% more on the rear wheels, because that means better start and grip. All new models will have it except 4Matic equipped ones. And, actually, I'm still a fan of the good old M3s, E30 and E36, E46 and E90 are a pile of crap. The new ones will have forced induction engines and that's why I hate M division, they are breaking tradition. Stupid.

Yes I agree, though I did like the E46 (CSL particularly) but after that generation I lost all interest in BMW. All the appeals of the original M3 had been lost when they added an 8 cylinder. Not to mention its no longer a "drivers" car, which the original M3 defined and IMO its very unattractive. For the price I'd rather buy something better in its class like a Porsche Carrera S

Actually, the M3 Saloon and C63 are in the same class, so you are obviously misinformed. A DTM car compared to a street car? That is the most ridiculous comparison ever, you might as well throw a Prius in there while you are at it. If you want to use Jeremy as a source, then he also loved the M3 CSL. Well they may be in the same class, but C63 was made for something totally different. C63 is a powerdome. M3 is a racetrack car. So, the good comparison is racetrack car vs. racetrack car. CLK DTM is the perfect opposition for the M3. And CLK DTM is a normal car,just like M3,but it was made for cornering. Find some pics on google and you'll se what monster i'm talking about. I wouldn't say that if I wouldn't test it. It beat M3 around the track for 2.7 seconds, although I wasn't driving.

And come on, what's the deal with the discussion about Mercedes and BMW? If you crash a 750i its just as much worth as a S500/S550.

If you buy an S63 you usually DONT worry about 200€/$ more on the bill - and you usually have more than one car to drive so you don't worry about inspection intervals either.

Despite that: i drive to my mercedes dealer and get stuff like indicator lamps for free. And Coffee, something to eat and a glass of sparkling wine, too!
