Whats with this " streetfighter " name, To me, Most of these bikes look like the street won the fight. But not this one, I grows on you after a few moments. Looks good in it's own way.... Ride safe while street-fighting, yl
Excuse my laziness... but I have been ignorant about this street fighter style. WOW is all have to say!! I love it!! I am the original owner of a 2008 sv650. I'm very very interested in making mine a street fighter.... any advise or contacts for me? I'm able to do all the work myself, just looking for any type of a helping hand in parts guidence. GREAT BIKE!!!!
@RassieV With the new Mount is this now turning with your Forks as I'm looking to keep my original speedometer, And think i will have to work with original mounts separate from forks.
correct me if im wrong but wasn't the original idea behind the "streetfighter" bike much like a chopper removing any unnecessary cosmetic weight and making it go as fast as possible.
Yes, correct, note that half the tail section is gone which includeslots of subframe sections, ditto the front end, no more full fairing with heavy bracketry etc, much lighter forks, also exhaust cut in half..
@chobies That's true for the "original" idea but thats been tweaked a little in the modern idea and now its about building a "rat rod" bike out of various parts and making to your version of "cool"
this bike is sick, minus the retarded looking front headlight. Throw a smaller one on there. The rest of the bike been stripped down and is really clean and sharp, then theres this praying mantis looking retarded headlight on the front.
And yes i realize thats the stock headlight just modified, but it looks weird after all the other mods youve done.
When I built it 3 years ago the front looked OK and was all I could afford. Realize the latest trend is smaller and more compact. I am looking at building a second version using an SV1000 and will look at using a different front look...but the rear is as you said pretty sweet..
It is a stock SV650S fairing and headlight that was trimmed to be smaller and then moulded out of fibreglass to form it with some edges to vover the bottom and the rear..It is actually pretty easy to do..took longer to make the brackets to hold it on and the dash panel also took a while to form out of aluminum..
wow..you did a beautiful job. It came out perfectly. Can you comment on how long and how much it cost? I currently own a 03 svs copper and was thinking of converting to streetfighter as well...pointers?

MrBurns90Days 6 months ago
@MrBurns90Days I trimmed away all the extra fairing plastic around the headlight and also the screen. Then I made a fiberglass cover for the rear.

@MrBurns90Days Yes everything turns with the forks. But so do the same gauges/speedo on the standard non s model.

Vapor Gauges work great, ran the pickup of the front rotor bolt, had to make a bracket for it. Teh rear tail is an R6 Superbike race tail.
