I love Flotsam and Jetsam man, but you CANNOT compare his basslines to Cliff Burton okay? That's just damn right impossible and should be illegal. He was TRAINED in musical theory. His musical tastes went from Misfits to Thin Lizzy to Bach. You can't compare a metal bass virtuoso with Jason. I'm not taking anything away from Jason, he was really good and had an amazing stage presence to him, but to compare the actual playing to Cliff is just not possible.

I dunno dude. I think you overrate him, as many others do, because he died. Yes, of course Jason isn't gonna go up and say "I THINK IM TEH BEST BASSIST IN METALLICA, NOT CLIFF". I'M saying I think he is, regardless of whether or not he thinks so. If you want to look at it technically, /Rob/ is probably the most skilled out of them. Aside from his distorted fills and solos, I don't even see anything special in Cliff's basslines.
