@columbuschamber "The Columbus Chamber's mission is to lead and support economic growth and development for the Greater Columbus community." Even if that means lying?
@xGregapher Exactly. But alot of people will defend their hometown's honor to the death. But I was born and raised in Ohio, except for the two years I lived in Germany (beautiful country and even better food). I agree with you though, Ohio isn't that great. This video is seriously exaggerated.
@randalld93 I know $14.50 is nothing, I make alot more than that, but you're missing the point. Their aren't many places that pay a decent salary like that with only a diploma, especially with the economy being in the shape it's in. Most of the stuff they're advertising is seriously exaggerated. It says in your profile that you're 18. You really don't know what you're talkin' about since you probably still live at home with you're parents.

@ScotsmanRex An overgrown college cowtown where people live in the shadows of teenagers. No National Football League, no Major League Baseball, who give a shit about soccer, loss of Germain Amphitheater, the city always has to have a comma followed by Ohio, etc.
Columbus, Ohio sucks. I've lived here my entire life and it's nothing like what they're advertising. LOL The "suburbs" are overrun with drug dealers and gang bangers, much like the urban areas. The cost of living in Ohio is ridiculous. You need to earn atleast $14.50 to survive here. If you only have a highschool diploma, it'll be very hard to find a job that pays those wages.
Columbus is awesome. If it were at least 50 during the winter I would say it would be the greatest city in the world over all. The ONLY thing I hate about it is WINTER.
I hate winter in general though. The whole northern half of the US can disappear during the whole seasons for all I care.
@Mr070363 Noo man, columbus is great, i used to live there. Not as many hilljacks as you expect, its really safe too.I dont why im posting this shit, but ok.
@Mr070363 columbus is bigger than cincinnati and cleveland combined.... u just think tht cuz the media and pro sports presence putting those cities on map, columbus is much more urban

I was born and raised in Detroit, MI. Go Wolverines. I graduated High School in 1993 and immediately went to Columbus to attend DeVry. I ended up staying seven years and even attended Columbus State Community College. Columbus is drastically different from Detroit but it's that difference that makes me want to move back someday. I saw a lot of change in Columbus from 1993 to 2001. I hope it hasn't changed for the worse.
Columbus... It's just OK! 15 years here, it really is a nice place to be... I like the 'bus.! Cheap rent, lots of greenspace, rivers, ravines, woods, trails, museums, universities, arts, lotta indie music made by strong players, a thriving immigrant community, still some jobs left here. It's just OK!
florida is overrated. tv makes it look so wonderful and all that when it really ain't nothin but swampy marshland....and all the peopel there are stuck up and superficial...
Though the video sucks ;-( I so wished to come back and stay for the rest of my life.
Lift the damned restrictions on the working visas for Europeans or at least make the green card affordable so one has not to take a home loan just to pay the legal fees.
Columbus has plenty going for it; great neighborhoods, restaurants, local art scene, festivals, it's socially liberal and easy to bike in. For the most part there is plenty more good than bad.
What it lacks was what it once had and is finally starting to regain like good rail transportation (please get that streetcar line going) and a bustling Downtown (urban infill replacing parking lots).
I wouldn't visit, let alone choose to live in Columbus if this video was all I saw.
Oh, you're complaining about the video now? The bulk of your comment was complaining about Columbus. I feel that the city you live in is only as much fun as you make it out to be. So if you don't like it here, do something about it. Whining isn't going to accomplish anything.
I'll have to agree with this. Very nice city and very cheap housing, esp. compared to the other cities I've lived in. Diverse population too. Like it.
5 dislikes must be from ppl from Michigan.

Actually, he has a point.
I quit the Columbus Chamber and left Columbus 15 yrs ago for many of the reason you point out.
I ended up going to Seattle, then Silicon Valley, and back to the Seattle region...and I haven't regretted it for a second.
And it IS a massively lame promo.
