Guys this is old school. No need to deny it. They have shop goggles and old school splatmaster and I think I see some tippmanns. They're wearing Vents predator and shop goggles...
@FlyingFooBalls yeah this vid is from 94 when we actually had a camera. We all started in 88 with Splatmasters and Nelspot 007s. I contend that it's still pretty old school.
Great video man.I posted an old school vid myself today from 1992. I can remember shooting gum balls out of my Splatmaster at lizzards on the garage...good times.
I know it's hard to tell in the video, but if you go to :50 you will see two players. One is carrying a Brass Eagle Nightmare, and another player is carrying the Nelspot 007, which actually was around before the Splatmaster. I appreciate what your saying. It's not the OLDEST school ever, but I think it still qualifies. Too bad I didn't have a camera for our first game, cause it WAS in 1988 and it WAS played with Splatmasters. This is just a few years later. Still old school. = )
and to think...all this time later, and after all of the advancements in paintball, a good portion of players, including a good friend, and I...would much rather run around and play pump
me and my frien played a back yard game of paintball(his back yard is pretty much the woods) and we had all the cover and stuff set up and the rules were do wat it takes to survive.
I disagree it was a diffent game back then.. I have guys on my team playing since 1986.. Doom troopers of orlando and still playing .. we havent found a team that has lasted as long yet. But much respect to the old school days when accuracy by volume was not possible.
I think we both agree that it was a different game. Just my opinion it was more fun because you had to make those shots count..now you just spray paint. I find because I play maybe once a year that the majority..majority not top players don't have the skills the old school player have. besides the spray they are no competition. I play and they always want me to get a new marker and play for that field. I had more fun in the 8O's-90's. To the new crowd.. spray and pray..
Great video. I love the hand held jitteryness. It really captures the fun of paintball. That's about the time my Automag was made, there were some excellent inventions back in the early 90's.
Just to clean up any confusion, the first game of paintball was in June 1981
yeah, I realize the poor quality. The footage is about fifteen years old taken with an analog cam-corder. I had to pull the footage from a dusty old VHS tape I posted the video despite the poor quality for nostalgia.
The song is called, "Fortunate Son" by Creedence Clearwater Revival. Good war protest song from the Vietnam days. Not that I'm a war protestor....song just seemed to fit the video.
Sweet vid man,,contrary to belief young noobs google Paintball trust me paintball was well alive back before the 90's when the splatmaster was invinted with the nelsplat 007's
My uncle got me started when he gave me his old splat master it was awesome
Man, who are you guys? I swear they didn't even have paintball back then. And who is the guy with the Levi's on? Those guns were not even semi's, how did you even hit anything? Dude, Whatever??? ;)
very nice, vid. old relaxing paintball. gotta love it. I didnt start playing until the early 2000's but this reminds me of when i started!

Thats not old school paintball. Maybe if your 14 years old. Try 1988 Splatmasters and slingshots. Now thats old school.
