  • I know the Era Vulgaris with Running Joke and Era Vulgaris at the end is the UK version, and the other im prettyu sure is the Japanese version, or else the Mexican one.

  • @JacobJPL i live in mexico, i brought this album but i didn't found the song "running joke", at the back of the cd cover there wasn't a this bonus track, the only bonus track i found was this one, the fun machine, but i found in wikipedia that this song is available on itunes store

  • i took this vid and died

  • Wasn't this song supposed to be on Lullabies to Paralyze but the tapes got lost or something?

  • No One Knows... of this song, sadly

  • why wasn't this included on the album?!

  • @billthejanitor it was, in Europe.

  • @billthejanitor I think it is on a version of the Era Vulgaris album. Me and my friend both have it, but I have "Era Vulgaris" at the end and he has this instead. Both songs should be on it as standard IMO.

  • Perfect for the Dark Carnival level on Left for dead, Qotsa is like a tattoo you either get it or you don't.

  • you think the members of qotsa ever look at each other and say "holy shit we're awesome."

  • OK, AT 3:30 WHEN THE FUCK DID THAT HAPPEN?!?1?!??!?!

  • @cudatheferocious Popworld

  • what is the picture at 6.39 from? could it be a video for a song or somthing. let me know

  • @GianTheMan91 Popworld.

  • @cudatheferocious /watch?v=97Pp-tNEMCI

  • josh homme is a fucking BAD ASS

  • i..

    just..

    love you guyz..

  • awesome song! : ))

  • recorded live in some grimy tavern in 1800s europe.

  • 2:59 Mind = blown

Cock = knocked inside of itself

  • best song name ever!

  • fuck, those drums! :o

  • I fucked to this song...good stuff..I recomend it

  • @sixplus6 Hopefully that fun machine didn't drop a stool and subsequently croak.

  • where I can fing this song?

  • My favorite overall band by far. Too bad everyone else is listening to shit like lady gaga and that fucktard bieber these days.

  • @dahosh not us though, we're ok.

  • "You're ten pounds of shit in a five pound bag.." Best delivered insult I've heard in a song

  • i love the dramatic change of pace that comes out of nowhere at 3:00 :D

  • i havent heard this song yet but its by queens of the stone age so this is bound to be good

  • Killer tune.

  • Joey just fuckin killin those drums!!!!......holy fuck thats good

  • live version slay this

    natasha kills it R.I.P.

  • 1:16 L.

  • sounds like it belongs on the 2nd album

  • Such an underrated song and band... Why does it only have 37000 views??? Everybody should listen to these guys.

  • You aint Robert Mitchum. You're 10 pounds of shit in a 5 pound bag.

  • 0:08 Wow, what an unflattering shot.

  • my era vulgaris didnt have fun machine =( probably mean it when they say "record"

  • this is a masterpiece of rock music ....

  • the fun machine is an electric organ like the hammond organ. its called the baldwin fun machine :)

i think they have one in rancho de luna.

  • Josh Homme please marry me,

  • i took a shit and died after listening to this song, and im okay with that.

  • I think that this song is about having an ego death, similar to "Everybody Knows That You're Insane"

  • i have that song on my cd

    but thats the german one

  • Can anyone tell me what the "Fun Machine" is? I saw another video from Them Crooked Vultures and saw a short clip of something that said "The Fun Machine"

  • It's an amplifier i think.

  • @gizmothedog Its a keyboard... quite possibly a synth of sorts but I can't remember exactly

  • @gizmothedog its a type of moog synth... im pretty sure.

  • @gizmothedog

It's an old crappy Synth from the late 70's or something. It's basicly a cheap mellotron with a funny name.

You can hear it at the end of Caligulove, Them Crooked Vultures.

  • why didnt my era vulgaris cd have this song ??? :(

  • uh, no one's did.

  • meaning, the cd didn't, the vinyl did. sorry.

  • Ok,This is first time hearing this and this has just became my favorite song of all the songs and bands i ever heard

  • look for the vinyl version of this song, it's arguably even better then this greatness.

  • fucking EPIC

  • lmao i looked this up and i haven't even bought era vulgaris yet. on the sleeve of LTP it says this tape was lost , hahaha, this is sick

  • Oh so is this where all the people who are LISTENING hang out?? Ok...

  • 3:32 is the greatest photo ever.

  • can anyone post the lyrics to the new version of this song?

  • fucking bad-ass song stem to stern...

  • i like the studio version better because joey always speeds the tempo up on the pull off part in the middle...he's a kick ass drummer but Grohl beats him everytime on keeping a steady tempo...NLightner

  • Homme is a rocker's rocker.

  • He sure is!

  • You're 10 pounds of shit in a 5-pound bag.

  • i like the live version the best.

  • sounds like it came from a desserts session or it should be on one

  • 'At the bottom of the bile', I believe.

  • correct.

  • I'm trying to figure out what he says after

"Come on take it with a smile"

  • What the hell is that picture at 3:33 ? xD

  • QotSA performing on a show called Popworld

  • lol, they seem to be acting like Kraftwerk xD just look for some live videos of them.

  • This song was on my Norwegian copy.

  • This is my favourite queens tune, although that does change most days!

  • best song no ones heard about

  • @iz1016 You could say it's the best song that... No one knows

    YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

  • these guys are so cool its frustrating

  • Yes they are

  • Actually this song was released separately too, if you pre-ordered Era Vulgaris on some website they sent you an extra disc with this song on it.

I jumped on that shit when I heard about it because I was pissed that I missed out on the vinyl with the Lullabies version. Totally worth it; badass song for sure.

  • to get this song you have to buy a special tour edition of era vulgaris. i bought that cd online the other day (cant wait to get it)

  • They would be stupid not too release this, perhaps on the next album or on a best of.

  • this was in the latin amercan (and i think that in other versions too) version of Era, so i dont think that they would release anywhere else

  • I don't think they'll do a best of. Certainly don't hope so either. It's so fucking greedy. "We don't have any ideas for a while, here buy our songs again."

  • I wouldn't mind buying a best of... Usually if a band is nice enough, they'll throw a few unreleased or new tracks on it towards the end as well as possibly a dvd. Sometimes I like to hear just the 'hits'... But I understand where you're coming from with the 'greedy' comment.

  • I think they might. It probably would have fit well on either Era Vulgaris or more probably Lullabies. But they could pull a Make it Wit Chu (yeah, I know it was a Desert Sessions song before). Here's to hoping.

  • it wasn't on the original Era vulgaris becaus ethe masters got left in another studion and they didnt have time to get them. Well, as i understand..

  • best song title ever

  • anyone know where i can get this song from?

    cheers.

    x

  • I like at 4:15 where the tempo speeds up again.

  • could someone plz tell me how to get this song nto my itunes plz?

  • this is simply badass!!!!!

no one else could make a song like this...

    best fucking band ever!!!

i wish this song was on like itunes or something!!!

  • Sounds a bit Primus-y in the beginning. Gotta love QotSA though. :]

  • So true!! Never thought about it, but that beginning reminds me of the brown album!

    Awesome song by the way!!

  • helll to the yesss

    QOTSA RULLEZZZ

  • on VH1

  • Great song ... too bad this one and Era Vulgaris (title) songs aren't available through iTunes. True Tribute to Josh Homme's distortion. It is hard to believe that QotSA isn't in this comming up 100 greatest hard rock songs.

  • I like how at 3:00 it changes tempo and a new riff is Born, just like in Supa Scoopa and Mighty Scoop when it jumps into half time.

  • Yes!!! Im glad someone else thought that :D

  • I think this is the best version of the song.

  • 6:36 what the hell's with that picture? where was that?

  • lol 10 pounds of shit in a five pound bag

  • im not a huge rock fan

    but this song is amazing

  • One of the only songs ever justified seven minutes. Shits all over Metallica. Sad but true. Ha.

  • The live version is much better

  • what's a fun machine? and how does it shit?

  • ahh...the mysteries of live. everyone with a different answer to the same question...like "is there a god?" or "what's a fun machine and how does it shit?" ...my answer to the latter is, "...with a great degree of difficulty"

  • LOL XD

  • best...song name...ever

  • hahahah

    thats true

  • the worst part is its actually a good song lol

  • and this song has more attitude than anything else. one of the best songs. ever

  • O.O wow... i can only fin the old mix :(

  • where can i download this?

  • why cant they just make a record which is the same everywhere? i want this track man

  • cocksmoker, hahah

  • It's a bonus track for the German, Brazilian and Japanese editions of Era Vulgaris. But yeah it was intended to be put on Lullabies to Paralyze but they lost the tapes. It was also released as a 7" Vinyl to fans who had tickets to a London show after the band canceled there several times.

  • Yeah I just saw that on my album... lol..

  • I love the spanish guitar...

  • Where's the pic at 3:30 from?

  • An appearance on Popworld, shitty chart music show on T4. Bands on there have to sing over a backing track, and I don't think they could be arsed to mime. Unless I'm wrong. In which case I'm sorry.

  • ha, its a Kraftwerk parody!

  • Yeah, i think this was supposed to be on 'Lullabies' because it says so on the inside of the album jacket.

  • Lmao, great title :D

  • like the original studio version better, sounds rougher. sounds best in concert though. 12/18/07 at the paramount in seattle was a rockin show.

  • For those wondering:

I got this on a one-track CD, that came with my internet pre-order of Era Vulgaris. By now, I don't know where you could grab one.

  • This song is 10x better live, saw it at their show on Oct 29. The crowd lost it because it is so rare they actually play this song. The noises reverberate in your chest and you are just assaulted by the distortion and the fuzz.

  • where the fuck can i get this????

  • I second this question, it's now my favorite song

  • it's on the era vulgaris record

  • Not on the uk version. In fact, as far as I'm aware only available on the American presses.

  • Your awareness is wrong - I have Era Vulgaris, I live in the US, and it's not on there

  • That's because it's on LULLABIES TO PARALYZE, Not ERA VULGARIS. :)

  • Yeah, but the question is which version?

  • dude yd you get 6 thumbs down??

  • its on german, mexican and argntnian releases

    i have the tour edition

  • its on german, mexican and argntnian releases

    i have the tour edition

  • its on german, mexican and argentinian releases

    i have the tour edition

  • i don't suppose anyone can upload this song for DL, i've only got the old version and this one is just so much more well done...

  • such a kl outtake song by dem, noticed dey play it sumtimes live, b great 2 see it wen see dem in feb, QOTSA RULES!!!

  • Definitely liked the older version more. it sounded like they recorded in a bathroom... and I liked that!

  • Can't wait to see them on the 15th =D

  • gonna see them monday woooooooop!:D

  • Easily one of their best songs. It's a pity it didn't get on the US version of Era Vulgaris...

  • You kiddin' me? The old version had such a sloppy composition. I liked it, but I'm glad they revamped it for the Era Vulgaris bonus.

  • Depends whether I'm feeling sloppy or not. I just love the noises.

  • i really like this song. this version is good, but i'd have to say i like the old version better.

  • THank you man!!

  • Can you explain me plz

This version is one of the bonus tracks of era vulgaris, and the old version is the one of the vinyl?

I'm still not sure which version i like more :D

  • who doesn't :P?

  • I don't. I enjoy the new verse that kicks in at 1:39. Makes the song even better. Both versions are great.

  • This is so cool! I've got the Over the Years one, but where did you get this? Was this that compensation for the show cancellation CD?

  • its on certain era vulgaris albums, by wich i mean imported.

  • Oh right. Cheers. Yah, I was under the impression that all those who had tickets to the cancelled gigs in london got sent them too.

  • I prefer the version on Over The Years And Through The Woods :)

  • Excellent song...I think that it would be a welcome addition to Era or number 6...

  • boss, boss, boss, boss hoss.

    love it.

  • its pretty much raw studio footage but the sound is somewhat cleaned up enough. definetly not album worthy. watch for it on a 6th queems album whenever they decide to make a new one. they said they werent able to complete every song they wanted to put on the album

  • i actually like the old version a bit more..

I don't like the guitar in the beginning..

But I also like this one more than the old cause it's more up-tempo...

And this 1 is also extended..

  • this sounds more cleaned up but still got that ruff sound to it.
