But you are right in that he is a great all round guitarist. In fact he is one of the best guitarists in metal and was the biggest influence on the Evile Guitarist.

Alex Skolnick must be number one. Why? Because he is better than all the thrash lead guitarists. Marty Friedman isn't number one because he plays other types of music and Thrash was not his first musical outlet. Testament was Alex Skolnick's and he is the best for Thrash. Metal all together, it'd be Glenn Tipton for sure, no doubt. Maidens songs are repiticious. Priest on the otherhand, everything about them is fantastic. No one to this day has made a heavier riff than "Dissendent Aggressor."
