That's what's going to happen, because the research to take us in that direction, is funded mainly by Autism Speaks. Thus, part of the money from this 'walk for autism' will ultimately go to the killing of unborn autistics.

(Based on the fact that the same research took place in relation to Down's syndrome, and at this point 98% of unborn babies diagnosed with Down's, are aborted.)

One of the many reasons I hate autism speaks. What if I'd been aborted because of my autism? Blegh.

I wouldn't want a "cure" if there were one. It is not a malfunction. I never met an autistic person who wanted to be nonautistic.  Learning to interact does not come intuitively to us, but we *can* learn enough of social norms to get by. (Some people with autism are also mentally retarded, but don't conflate the two).
