One band that doesn't get near enough recognition. Everyone talks about Trooper, Rush, April Wine, Bryan Adams. These guys were talented! Sure they had Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance write a few songs for them...but their most recognized songs were written by Lindsay Mitchell and/or Al Harlow. Personally, I think Armageddon is the greatest Canadian rock song of all time.
RON TABAK was awesome , felt everything he sang , he was hit by a car in vancouver canada , while riding a bike , went to the hospital and as he was being released he became sarcastic and nasty to others from pressure on his brain , was arrested taker to jail .could not wake him , he was rushed to the hospital it was found he has a blood clot and a swollen brain , it was to late to operate , he died christmas eve 1984 ,,,,,,,
I'm only 15 and I?m listening to music like this ! I hate my own generation ! I wish I lived in the 60's, 70's or the 80's ! Those were the days when music was actually MUSIC !
when I was 15 in the late 70s I hung around with Ron Tabak's younger brother, smoking and drinking coffee at Bino's in New Westminster (this was when Prism was in its heyday)
Sounds like those of us of a certain vintage are getting nostalgic. . .but given the bulk of what supposedly passes for rock these days, it is not hard to look back to better sounding times even without the rose coloured glasses. And I don't know about any of you, but I find the bassline killer in this song. Luv it.
Holly Mac, just 5 minutes ago, i had a kink in the neck, RLS ( restless leg syndrome ) w/ a nasty migraine, but during this song, Wam, i 'm totally cured ! Just my luck !!! Rock on !
Thanks for posting! I love this song! I grew up in the 1970s and 1980s and music was very good!! We could learn from the past and make the world a better place today!!
@krazygirl1564 born in the late 60's! No kiddin nothin mattered when we grew up then!! most of my best years was the 80's!! wasnt music the best then!!!???????????
@spidey4201966 Agreed I was born 69, they don't make music like they used to, hate this rap crap or pop bull, today it's about the money and spotlight, back in the days it was about the talent it meant something, I wonder why I'm still stuck in the past, 50's through the 80's is the best era for anything. anyways keep on rocking man
Wow. Great song. I've always likes Prism, but I never had a chance to see them in concert when I was younger. Now that I've seen this, I'm thinking that was a good thing. What a lame looking band. Is that Arnold from "Happy Days" on keyboards?
@Nockgale Sorry, but there's this band called Rush you may have heard of... recorded through that same time period... very much Canadian... didn't sing songs about being "out of control" or "headed for an overload".... Naturally, one person's faves are as valid as another's, but "best Canadian band of the 70s and early 80s" is a little too definitive for the available facts.
@isitrealgood yeah i suppose rush is awsome 2 but i never listening to them a whole lot, but i know somone who seen them play in brandon manitoba before they were famous n he said they were amazing
@Nockgale Of course, Rush isn't the same kind of hard rock as Prism, but it's hard rock just the same, especially in the early days (first 5-6 albums).
that's what I meant by "lip synched"...perhaps they were really performing the song in the video, but what you are hearing is the album version...are you clear on that yet
geez you guys...don't you recognize that this is the album version put to another video of them on stage..I think you need to go back and listen to the album again...it IS the same...who's the real asshole here
@gunsroses4ever their lead singer died, ironically 25 years ago today (christmas), he was hit while riding his bike. He died from a blood clot in his brain after his head hit the pavement.
Simply the Best!!!
