that's a small amp I only usa by myself, it's an Ibanez-something... (I don't know), mostly I use a 400w mark bass cab with a behringer head...I think I'm gonna buy some tube head but it's expensive :D

Hey dude, I know what you mean with ¨punk sound¨ but the thing is, its not your amp. You just need an EQ and put the ¨HIGH¨ very high, and the ¨LOW¨ very low.

Try it out, works great for slapping too.

I don't know because you can get that kind of sound using both P bass or a jazz, many P basses have some kind of "full-of-medium" sound (so I almost turn all the way left the control of medium frequencies from the amp). I've bought THAT jazz because those pickups are truly amazing and the wood (even if it's heavy as a rock) gives a punchy sound. love it. you must choose according to your music and the kind of sound you want for it (notice that matt freeman used both P basses and jazz)

@OffTehWall Jazz bass's are heavy, but give a much punchier, better tone than most P bass's do. I'd say go with the jazz if you're looking for tone, but if you want a bass you can jump around with, throw around, and get crazy with, then get a P bass. There's also the Squier Jaguar bass, with the pickups of both Jazz and P, the knobs of a P bass, and the neck of a Jazz bass.
