Your loc take down encoursged me to take my locs out instead of cutting them. Now you have to get a domincan blowout and get your ends clipped to start you new journey.

Yeah actually I had some latched locs and I had to comb them out to split them 'cuz they were too big... It hurts way more, it take much longer, ad there's tons more breakage, so it ends up a lot thinner than otherwise and really damaged.... So technically yes... But aesthetically no...

Thanks for posting your loc takedown experience on Youtube. I had locs for 8 years and was yearning for a different style, but was reluctant to cut them because I didn't want to be rocking a TWA. Because of you, I'm in the process of taking down my 8 year old locs. I'm halfway through and so far I'm so excited to see the progress! you just have to really condition your hair and make sure that it's very wet because I tried with one of my locs that I joined with another. Your hair has to be REALLY wet and conditioned or you could rip out too much hair.

Now. My locs were about 2 feet long So I cut half of each of them off. then I combed out the rest. So it sounds like I cut off a lot, but all the hair that I did cut off I was going to lose anyway. So I still came out with ALOT of hair lol!

@RenegadeQueen She's saying that the part she cut off would have sheaded anyway because that part is dead hair that is not attached to her scalp. Since you dont brush or comb locs, the hair that would have fallen out in every day combing just stays in.

this is amazing. On reason why I did not want locs was because I believed that they were permanent. Being a woman who likes to have versatility when it comes to her hair, locs seemed like a commitment that i did not want because they were "permanent". Congrats on taing out all of those tangles. Now, I see why you cut them in half! It's good to know that one can take down their locs without having to do a big chop.
