  • another fine video from the junkman, nice information and once again thanks for the advice on a different video. i am working on a 2012 range rover and it was meant to be new but looks all swirled up before i even got to it and i have clayed it and its currently under a car cover. should i compound it or go to my swirl remover and then polish? its black metallic with a pearl flake.

  • @daveys84 Before I can answer this, I need to know a few things. What do you mean by "compound it?" Second, what product are you using to remove swirls and what are you using to polish?

  • @Junkman2000 when i mean by compound i mean theres alot of heavy swirls and scratches and i just bought a few adams polishes bits after our last chat we had. have even watched there videos of how to use them. i have stopped using meguiars and stuck with chemical guys and now adams stuff aswell.

  • @daveys84 Okay, after you finish claying the vehicle, you should be able to use SHR to get rid of the swirls and FMP to bring the shine back to the paint. I explain all the steps that you need to do in my "From Clay to Wax:" thread, which is posted in my area on Adam's Forums.

  • LOL, AJ! At 4:42 you are explaining that a foam gun is good for laying down a thick layer of foam and soaking off things and as soon as mention "...like bird crap..." a crow starts cawing immediately! That was priceless!!!!

  • bro i love your videos i am subbing 4 sure :) , i got a 2010 Mazda 3 Sport GT loaded to tha toots lol she is Black and i bought her brand new it will be exactly one year on the 26th of this month of October and now i notice she is geting kinda ruff

  • @mazdaman1982 You've been loving her all wrong, but I'll get you on track. :)

  • @Junkman2000 ok , but the inside of her is mint , i gota work on the outside

  • @mazdaman1982 You need to join me over at Adam's Forums so that the videos make better sense. They were not meant to be watched here at You Tube, they are meant to be watched from the threads in which they are posted.

  • @Junkman2000 i am heading 2 bed i had way 2 much to drink lol

  • @Junkman2000 what is your water pressure on that ,i live in the netherlands and we have a water pressure about 2bar

  • @midlum180 I have absolutely no clue. I've never measured it, nor do I know how.

  • I hate claying my truck "white" tons of tiny spots......great video man!!

  • @2000xlt Thanks for watching. :)

  • Shoot bruh your fade is lookin' real clean!

    -G

  • @GaryStanionis I hook it up myself at the crib!

  • @Junkman2000 Lol, man just reading some of the comments here. Cats is dumb! People trip me out! I need to come by Adams and get me some of them nice Chamois and those other type of micro-fiber towels. The ones you use on the waterless wash. I need like 5-6 of each! They got big towels?

  • @GaryStanionis Yep, they have the big drying mictofiber towel that is similar to the smaller blue Waterless Wash drying towel. They are all on the Adam's Polishes website. No chamois though, those are bad for your paint because all you will find in stores is China made junk. A REAL chamois cost about $60 for a small one like you see in stores.

  • I seen better foam guns then that, by the way the soap is not even staying. Is basically just trowing water with soap. So you said "go buy one of these at the hardware store or watever they sell them at" you mean to say you dont even know where you got yours or you dont want people to know?? lol

  • @nymxcar Gilmore is the originator of the foam gun and the Foam Master II is the best non-pressure foam gun made to date. For someone with a lot of opinions, you sure don't retain information well. I got my foam gun and the quick disconnect from AutoGeek. However, you can get them cheaper at a hardware store and the foam gun off eBay or Amazon. I can tell by your videos that you are a lot younger than I. How many weeks have you been detailing cars?

  • @Junkman2000 I got a UK foam gun and works GREAT with my pressure washer. Once i apply the foam on the car it stays and loosen the dirt. The video I saw from you i dont see any foam building or even staying. You might as well just trow a bucket of soapy water instead. My videos I upload are fun things I like to do. I dont have any videos of me detailing. What make you so confident to ask me how many "weeks" I have been deataling? Is actually years, and yes i am a lot younger

  • @nymxcar If you have been detailing for years, you would know that what you have is a foam CANNON, not a foam gun. There is a difference. The foam gun hooks up to a hose. The foam cannon hooks up to a pressure washer. I wash my car in my garage, not in my driveway so a foam cannon would be a lot more messy in my situation. The foam gun is very effective. You wouldn't know that because the only thing that you have done is watched my videos. You need to also see my write-ups.

  • i want to see some befor and after pics of your car. that car is a classic. i bet after your done with it. she looks better than new

  • @loadedlover12 You need to go to Adam's Forums and check out "The Junkman's Corner". That's where all the before and after pictures are located.

  • JUNK MAN I HAVE DIAMOND SHINE CONTAINS HIGH LEVEL OF TEFLON I CAN SEND U SOME

  • @BUDDIESII Okay... first, turn off your caps lock. That's considered shouting on the Internet. Second, contact me over at Adam's Forums under the user name of Junkman2008. You can tell me all about whatever it is that you have over there.

  • GREAT DEMO I NEED FOR YOU AND I TO E-MAIL EACH OTHER I HAVE A NEW STATE OF THE ART PRODUCT ...KING OF KLEEN

  • @BUDDIESII You can always find me over at Adam's Forums under the user name Junkman2008. That's the best place for me to exchange emails. Thanks for watching. : )

  • I gotta stop watching these videos...now if you'll excuse me I have to go shine my car some more...

  • @bentonssbn LOL! I was like that when I first found You Tube years ago!

  • hi were can i buy one of those foam guns ive looked in every autozone and walmart i can find

  • @bobdudle123211

They don't sell them over the counter. You have to order them on the web. Adam's sells them. Use my discount code (Junkman) and get a discount on your purchase.

  • i just bought one today from detailers domian this is GREAT!

  • just curious,is it okay to clay bar your vehicle everytime u wash it(for me,i wash it every week)?

  • @MandosGTIAllDay It is okay but it is a total waste of time and product to clay a car that doesn't need claying. If the car passes the baggie test, you don't need to clay it. It would be like taking 10 showers a day when the only job you have is grading papers at school.

I haven't clayed my car in over two years because the paint is still slick as snot. It does live in a garage however.

  • It is so funny, you can hear a bird(s) right when you said "bird crap".

  • @rikkiejames You are one of quite a few people who have said that! lol!

  • Thanks, but I already bought one, it's by green Earth, I jus need to know what product you recommend to use in the solution canister. Thank you for the quick reply!

  • @JPB14 I use the Adam's Car Wash in mine. It works in the foam cannon too.

  • Hi there, just found your videos and I have to say they're best so far! Have a quick question. I just got a pressure washer foam gun, and wanted to know how to make rich dense foam without having to buy their product, as it may not be safe for cars. Please advise, thank you!

  • @JPB14 Thanks!

You need to Google "foam cannon". Those are made for pressure washers and put out a ton of foam. Those are the best kind as the foam sticks to the car.

  • @JPB14 You can use regular car soap but it won't foam nearly as well.

  • I use vinyl gloves when I'm detailing. So, instead of using a sandwich bag to check the finish as I'm claying, I just run my gloved hand over the paint as I'm claying to check my progress.

  • @hoopfan71 I have never tried using those gloves but a thin plastic bag really amplifies what your fingertips feel and that is what I highly recommend that people use.

  • This pimp likes his ho's lol!! See 6:21 on....

  • @XysteRST205 ???

  • @Junkman2000 when you say holes and hose, it sounds like your saying ho's (whores) Your quotes like "got your ho's right here" and "your hose determines how much foam you spray" I fouund it highly amusing :O)

  • @XysteRST205

That's my southern Kentucky accent blaring through! lol!

  • @Junkman2000 Don't ever lose it it made me laugh so much! :o)

  • @XysteRST205 lol!

  • DId he wash it before claying it? SO far I only saw him spray it down.

  • @ff8123

Did you watch part 5 of this video series? There are 10 videos in this series. Have you watched the other 9? If you are sitting here at You Tube and watching the videos, you are missing half the data. You need to be watching the videos from the forum and thread at which they are posted.

  • @Junkman2000 Part 5 is the wash and Part 4 the clay? Are you posting these things in any particular order?

  • @MKRM27

Yes I am. You cannot sit here at You Tube and watch these videos, you have to go to Adam's Forums where they are posted in order. I have a section there called "The Junkman's Corner" where not only are the videos posted, but also the associated text that is just as important as the videos. Without that, you will just end up confused at everything you see.

Start at Adam's Forums and watch the videos that way. It will then make sense. That's the way all of my video series are posted.

  • @Junkman2000 Only confused about one thing... why? If it doesn't make sense in isolation, then that is a huge miss. Also, you rinse after clay? Do you used ionised water?

  • @MKRM27

I am totally lost by your question. This new format doesn't allow me to follow your question as I would in a thread. Either send me a email or contact me at Adam's Forums.

  • Really great videos. You are really talented and know what you are talking about. Easy to learn from these videos too. Even if I'm from Sweden, far far away ;-) Keep up the good work man!

  • @larsmacab

Thank you sir and thanks for watching!

  • bird...crap...bird goes "aaah aaah aaah" :D priceless :)

  • @ShogunDK

You can't edit that kind of humor into a home video!

  • As a professional detailer, I just wanna let you know I love your videos man. You really know what you're talking about. Keep it up mate. Cheers.

  • @readaholic713

    Thank you sir!

  • @Junkman2000

    No problem! *subscribed*

  • bird....crap LOL

  • @4jiggy1

I was trying to think of a better word but that was all I could come up with at the moment!

  • question for ya junkman! got a 2001 corvette, and was curious if you've ever used the liquid claybar by armor all. I have clayed my moms white montey ss all the time, so i know what you are talking about needing clayed. The bumper where the exhaust is is terrible on those monteys.

  • @jeffzahnd Never used it but it can't be as effective as what I use. Liquid clay may as well be a polish.

  • Simply put, Claybar is for ABOVE the surface contaminants. Compounds are to remove BELOW surface defects aka swirls and sratches.

  • Actually, a better way to describe swirls and scratches is to say that they start at the surface and penetrate below it. I wouldn't want someone to think that the scratches and swirls are "under" the clear coat, unless they had one lousy painter spray their car.

  • @Junkman2000

Perhaps I should have been more precise but that's basically what I'm trying to say for the viewers. To remove a scratch or at least to improve it means to remove some clearcoat, or in the case of a single stage paint, some paint. Semper Fi.

  • I agree with you 100%. Semper Fi!

  • lol the bird heard you say bird crap sounds pissed off

  • You aren't the only one to catch that! You just can't script that stuff! lol!

  • yeah

  • Hey JM, fellow computer tech here and have found your videos extremely informative so keep 'em coming! Did my first clay job on my wife's red Infiniti yesterday. The clay was almost BROWN when I was done, it was so bad.

  • Wow, did you wash the car first?

  • Yep, it's because its parked outside (garage is too small). The paint felt like sandpaper at first but is much smoother now. I'll be ordering a 7424XP soon to really get it shining.

  • Good idea. I've got two videos going up right now concerning the PC. You may want to check them out when they finish uploading (which takes forever on You Tube).

  • hey JM, GREAT videos first of all...I noticed you using quite a bit of pressure while claying, how much pressure should be applied while claying a brand new chevy colorado...clayed it once but missed a few little little spots that look like pimples on the paint and didnt notice until after waxed and protected but wanted to know for next time I start over from clear...thanks a lot and b.t.w. Junkmans Supreme Gleam Wax sounds like a potentially great product...maybe talk with Adam? Thanks a lot!

  • I apply the same amount of pressure no matter if the car is brand spanking new or old as dirt. I scrub the paint, and that's why I use the amount of detail spray that I use. You'll know that you are using the right amount of pressure if the area is as smooth as glass when you're done.

If you clay small areas at a time, you won't miss any part of the car.

  • thanks...didnt really miss any spots...roughly 96% of the paint was clayed with meguiars smooth surface kit but I applied very little pressure so thats why those few little spots that look like a mole or a pimple remained( didnt clay doorjams, and paint I couldnt reach with hand..just did the bag trick on the hood after a wash and sure enough..still rough and I got 4 coats of nxt 2.0 on it...maybe I need more aggressive clay or literally scrub with about 10-20 lbs of pressure.ty btw Nice Vette!

  • Thanks. I scrub the hell out of everything I clay. It is smooth as glass when I do that. Adam's clay is what I use.

  • I just ordered the 7424 yesterday and it says its a 6" orbital buffer. doesn't that mean i can use 6" buffer pads? wouldn't the counter weight set in the 7424 already be a "use only 6" pad" weight?

  • Yes and yes.

  • dang JM, i think you're answering all the questions i've had about detailing here! Thanks for all the time and effort you put into these vids! just checked your first set of vids for your vet and getting into this one now!

  • You're welcome!

  • Nah, I'm not in the detailing business. I'm a computer guru. Detailing is way more work than I want to do for a living!

  • Gotta love the plastic bag test! - Jason

  • I picked that one up from Adam!
