@LOUMAYN Cloud just becomes kind of crazy because of mako addiction and post traumatic choc ( his whole family dying, all of his friends including his childhood ''girlfriend'' tifa and his ''mentor'' Zack die to in the same day (because he kind of sleeps for 4 years so Nibelheim and zack's death seem to happen the same day...)

Poor guy just couldn't handle all that, lost all his self confidence so he truned into his hero =)

But even if one or two people knew that Zack was a hero (Cloud, Aerith ect), that was enough for him wasn't it. He died for the better of the world.
