  • I think Reagan was the worst post-WWII US president, but I have to admit this is a fantastic ad, subtle but strong.

  • My guess is you work for the Government or some subsidiary like a public university. Enjoy your pension the people that paid for it are not getting one.

  • I wouldn't all him the worst. I to think he's extreamly overated but not the worst. I would have to say that it was either George W Bush or as much as I'd hated to say it Jimmy Carter.

  • What is it that bothers you? The ending of the Soviet Union without ever firing a shot? The 25 years of historic prosperity? The lowering of taxes? The increase of Freedom? The fact that we went from world wide wimps under Carter to being respected again? Do tell.

  • DemocratNoMore: without firing a shot?

oh I guess you mean how reagan "cut and ran" after 200+ marines were slaughtered in lebanon? do you you mean the "prosperity" that manifested itself in the S and L and housing scandals?(and subsequent bailouts) or the "freedom" embodied by reagan era draconian "war on drugs" laws that disproportionally punished minorities? as far as the opinion abroad, "respect" is not exactly the word that comes to mind.

  • Is it Bart the Bear?

  • I'm glad to hear that Ronald Reagan was willing to wrestle bears for the presidency.

  • omg, why am I watching old campaign ads? lolz, WTF, nobody understands what the fuck this ad means. lolz, most people are like, omg, bears???

  • the bear represents Russia (Soviet Union)

  • why a bear?

besides didnt ussr collapse from the inside?

  • People can be dumbasses...

Dr. Kelly and Dr. Bodek Rock!!!

  • You can't run adds like this anymore b/c Americans are too stupid to figure out the symbolism.

  • true dat

  • who gives a fuck about symbolism in bullshit political campaign ads?

  • Does the bear shit in the woods?

  • if there is a bear??????????? WTF!!!!!!!!!!

  • The bear was a reference to russia which is sometimes called the russian bear.

  • So is there a bear? I'm confused!

  • There was. Reagan killed it.

  • thats not really true.

  • don't feed the bear

  • Sakashvilli saw the bear

  • I miss those clever ads. I'm sick of the mud with Al Frankin and Norm Coleman here in Minnesota. I think mud would be a step up! Long live the memory of Ron. When Ron took office I was unemployed, when he left I had a good job, an new car and 20K in the bank!! The Reagan years rocked!

  • Interesting you should talk about Minnesota politica... search for "Mondale Ad" and you'll find the Crosby Still's Nas ad with pictures of children juxtaposed with Nuclear holocaust imagry. Even a liberal like me thinks thatw as too far. BTW, is Franken really runjing mud slinging ads or is he just criticizing Coleman's record?

  • There is a bear in the woods. Some people say that is the place where it shits. Others say it shits someplace else. Since no one can really be sure who's right, isn't it smart to shit in both the woods and someplace else? If there is a bear?

  • wow johnsomnia i am impressed. excellent comment.

  • feed the bear

  • 50 kajillion nukes beg to differ

  • "Portray a country as a threat, which actually turned out not so threatening."

You mean like jihadism that is killing people all over the globe, or the russians who just overran part of Georgia and threatened to nuke Poland?

  • Ronald Reagan was without doubt, the best US President of the 20th century. Socialism hasn't worked anywhere it's been tried.

  • The bear has awaken from his fake hibernation...and is clearly very hungry. Someone had better stop the bear. The people of the U.S. are too weak to allow their govt to do it, the Euros are even worse.

    Maybe China will step in.

  • the soviet "sleeping" bear awakes -

"Gentlemen, Comrades, do not be concerned about all you hear about glasnost and perestroika and democracy in the coming years. These are primarily for outward consumption. There will be no significant internal change within the Soviet Union, other than for cosmetic purposes. Our purpose is to disarm the Americans and let them fall asleep". Mikhial Gorbachev, President Soviet Union, to the Politburo Nov 1987

  • The Communists are very patient people (like the Chinese and Islamists). They are not in a rush to reach a quick but incomplete victory like Americans are.

Look at how the Communist elements in America from the 1950's-60's took their time to take control over the media, our University system, and public education. Little by little while we slept they changed things through PC propaganda...now they are in complete control. It's a Marxist principle to 'control the information.'

  • Retard

  • Sooo sad, my freedom was given to me from God, not a government. freedom from govt. involvement in my life is what America was founded on. there for,you are a jack ass.

HYE!! super japan kick (I saw your vid list).

    chump.

  • yeah cause they totally aren't running a train on you now. HELLO? the high oil prices are tied to the war in Iraq, which is where we're spending 12 billion dollars a month, which is the primary source of our sloping economy.

oh and yeah Japan is a horrible place. must be why we're giving them all our money.

  • And this is Ron's fault?

  • "pretty much every good country has a socialist form of government. Canada for instance."

That must be why so many Canadians come to the U.S. for quality health care and surgery, rather than waiting for months (look it up on the internet BUILT BY CAPITALIST AMERICA).

  • Reagan represented everything a real Republican should be: A strong national defense, reduced size of government, and constitutional values. Instead of invading the Soviet Union, he created a massive defense strategy, and it paid off! That's what Bush should have done, but instead we're in this mess.

Ron Paul is the most like Ronald Reagan. He should be our next president.

  • If there is a bear? WTF?

  • Bear = symbol for Soviet Union.

  • Why the "if"?

  • If the USSR was actually strong.

  • Reagan kicked some commie ass. He did his part, now he gets to rest. That's all that matters

  • That's what Sector Four sang to Ronnie in their classic punk hit: "White House."**

**from the 1983 compilation ep: "We Can't Help It If We're From Florida"

  • a pretty good analogy, but honestly, i doubt ur average american schmo understood it.

  • JohnMichaels20: The sad thing about it is that you're right. I mean, just look at some of the stupid comments people have made in response to this video. Need we say more? lol

  • SMOKEY!!!! NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

  • Happy Birthday President

    02/06/1911

  • The bear in 2008 is the impending "Bear market" on Wall Street and the recession. Once again due to supply side economics. Republicans must be bad with math.

  • Yeah, America was doing great with 70's stagflation, where the mob had fairer interest rates than the Fed.

  • I'm glad to hear that Ronald Reagan was willing to wrestle bears for the presidency.

  • WELL WAS THERE A BEAR?

  • THE BEAR was Russia.

Reagan said, "Mr Gorbachev, tear down this wall!"

    And he did.

    Read your history.

  • Oh, sure. But the US did so many terrible things to kill the bear now you've got a world full of wolves trying to kill you.

  • If there is a bear lol

  • I never liked the candidate but this an awesome ad. I put together my own list what I thought were the greatest ad at our youtube page: newmediafirm

  • hahaha

  • The second best ad in political history.
