  • mm is really dressed like a pure yank.... ; well, he could wear somethinf else...

  • What a lousy human being Weinstein is. I hope his heart fails him and he collapses in front of a bunch of Ricky Gervais fans with cell phone cameras, so we can all bask in the hilarity of a wanker business man on the ground gasping for his final breath.

  • i respect harvey for greenlighting fahrenheit 9-11 in the hardest of times.. and also for pushing pete jacksons LOTR project... but you can clearly see him being uncomfortable with the criticism of hillary in sicko.. but thats the reality harvey-boy: she sold out. good thing she lost to hussein. although he aint much better at fighting corporatism

  • I've just gave up on YouTube comments because everytime something like this is featured people give their opinion right or wrong and some random person slams them for having that opinion and turns inot a name calling match with the worst kind of english used, the kind that nobody can read

  • Good God! Michael Moore is a man who got up off his big, fat ass and is trying to point out what is going on in our world at great risk to himself. AND all you morons can do is point out that he is FAT? That just shows how worthless you really are to the world. A real waste of oxygen. GET up and DO something yourselves, don't just sit them making lame remarks. You should be ashamed.

  • Being a deceitful, disgusting fat slob is probably his best assets,

  • @robopad Is this the best you can come up with? What have you DONE to help the world? Anything? Or are you just sitting at the computer pointing out the obvious. I would take Michael over you any day. At least he is trying. And while I'm at it. You say he lied...but the studio and insurance company fact check his statements repeatedly so they don't get sued and guess what? NO law suits, so I guess he told the truth. Now why don't you get up and try to change the world?

  • Intelligent man

  • michael moore should never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever wear shorts

  • please be considerate and understand that people wear whaever they want......I bet you also have some celulitis on yours

  • You must be a fatass

    CIA agent or Sean Penn????

  • He makes Harvey look like Bruce Willis in this vid.

  • Moore really let himself go, lol!

  • @gundamWWW hahah look at his legs

  • Instead of pointing out that Michael needs to lose some weight how about sticking to what is important. How are we going to turn this world around before it is too late? God Bless him for trying.

  • @Tones4me Big fat liar, to be more exact , and those are some of his best assets.

  • Comment removed

  • wow moore is one fat ass

  • Michael moore is gonna need LOTS of healthcare later on, guy's like 200 pounds overweight.

  • This is horribly edited

  • no it's not

  • i wonder what harvey paid to get the reader a best picture nomination....

  • Harvey Weinstein is Married to Ankie Black....proof that money CAN buy love....or at least Marriage. Is M. Moore going to marry Jimmy Carters son this year?

  • Mike if you are so concerned with health care why don't you eat right and excersise? In the mean time, if you are going to be on camra, please put on some long pants.

  • It is not only his concern; it concerns maillions of Americans who may, or man not , be overweight, and hit by all sorts of ailment. Personality attack is not the way you discuss a social issue.

  • How am I attacking his personality? It is obvious he doesn't take care of himself. All you have to do is look. It's like Al Gore talking about global warming, when he pollutes 20X the amount an average American does......If you want to talk the talk, then walk the walk.

Do what you can to take care of your health, then look for help from others, thats my point.

  • How? you did it again. The point is not Michael Moore life style. I don't care about that; attack him all you want. But that deos not address the issue he is pushing for, i.e universal health coverage. He is the only one who dedicated much on this cause, but he is better known for this becuase he is a film maker. Now, you wanna walk the walk?

  • OK, I'll try to make it as simple as I can. #1 I agree our health care system is broken, but I'm very leary of the federal government "fixing" it. This is the same federal government that has us 10 trillion dollars in debt. #2 If people, you, me, MM, everyone, were more concerned about trying to live a healthy lifestyle ie: Don't smoke, drink in moderation, exersise regularly, and eat right, we would be much better off than trying to get someone else to pay for our doctors visit.

  • I wonder how many Americans are going to Cuba for their health care.

  • The problem with your comment was not lack of simplicity, but "ad hominem". Nevertheless, I agree a percientage of national healt issues is due to unhealthy diet, lack of excercise, and things under our controle. But all sorts of ailments(e.g hereditary, job related, virlas, infections, simpliy geriatrics under 65, and a host other health issues) hit people regardless. Government involvement in this issue can work, as it has in many European countries. How many go to Cuba? is irrelevant

  • A big % of our health problems come from an unhealthy lifestyle. I worked in the central city of a big city for 20 years. "Poor" people always have money for alchol, drugs, cigs, lottery, new shoes/clothes, tatoos ect...It's hard to feel sorry for people who make poor choises. It's even harder to have to pay for these poor choises. Do you really feel that our government can run this program? (without bankrupting our country)

  • A big %? and your source of info is whrere? Again, I agree a part of this issue goes back to peoples life style, but I'm not sure to what extend. I also agree that the more impoverished areas are hit harder. Futhermore, evern the poor are responsible for the choices they make, BUT ONLY TO SOME EXTEND. Poverty is a social phenamenon to which we as citizens have to respond. The poor, deprived from decent education, and healthy growing environment are less equiped to make "the right choices"....

  • First of all, there will always be poor people. Secondly, if you make excuses for poor people, you admit that they are not responsible. EVERYONE can get an education, students succeed even in schools that are considered "bad schools". How?, They don't make excuses, they study, do their work, and ignore all the other kids who choose to be lazy. If big government were the answer to poverty,we wouldn't have any. Personal responsibility, hard work, making good choises, and daily prayer are the answer

  • you just repeated what I said: "they will always be poor",and that history proves that. Poverty by it's nature breeds violence and ignorance. I doubt if any statistics contradicts that; nevertheless, some people make it despite their impoverished condtions - more power to them. The organization of a society, however, should not be built on success of exceptions, rather it should eliminate the root causes of failure of the disadvantaged as a rule.

  • How do you eliminate 15 year olds who are getting pregnant, not because they made a mistake, but because they want a baby? If you fund and support bad behavior, you get more of it. Simple, but true.

  • In that case, if the parent/s chose to, I"m for abortion. My focus was more the sick and unable, and less teen pregnancy. Nevertheless, I doubt if this sort of provisions encourage teen pregnany. The cause and remedy for teen pregnacy, I think, should be sought elsewhere - may be chiotic family life, mixed messages the youth are exposed to, disoriented ethical life, lack of self esteem, lack of self belief, etc.. I don't know.

  • Odd that liberals are so concerned about having their doctor visit payed for, but find no wrong in baby killing. I agree that it is a "choise" and the choise in murder. We all will have a judgement day. God have mercy on us.

  • Why dont you send one of YOUR children to an under-funded inner city school to show those stupid lazy jigaboos how to succeed in the good old USA. What a supremely stupid, offensive notion.

  • The answer was in your statement: Don't be lazy, anyone can succeed, many do. In fact, my 3 children all go to a public school that does not have a great reputation. So what? Your success depends, not on how much money the government spends on something, but the effort that you put into it. All 3 have/ or are succeeding. It's a matter of choise.

  • JBTG33-

I 100% agree. Individuality means absolutely nothing to Liberals. Because of course people are simply helpless children without the nanny state watching over them.

We spend more per student on education then any other country in the world, and what do we have to show for it? The public education system doesn't need more money, it needs more competition! School vouchers ladies and gentleman.

  • .... one could hold the poor responsible for all their miseries, if everything was equal for everybody - a condition man could not create throught the history.

Furthermore, our government has to reconsider the taxation system, and allocation of money to other sectors, like military, which has grown like a cancer.

  • I'm not talking just about the poor. My Mom is 83, in very poor health because she choose to smoke. Should all taxpayers be held responsible for her poor choise? I love my Mom, but I don't think her neighbors should be forced pay for her mistakes.

  • Again, I do belive one is responsible for the decisisons he/she makes, but only to cetain extend. That's why we a penal system.

Your mom's story is only anectodal, yet true; and it does explains many such cases; but it is naivly oversimplification to reduce this issue to this sort of myopic view.

  • Simple is good. Who needs things to be more complex?

  • Should every illness that can be attributed to a lifestyle choice be excluded from treatment in the public system. When your mother started smoking it was promoted as being a healthy relief from stress, frequently endorsed by doctors. There is no question that she should be treated at taxpayers expense, and shame on you for objecting.

  • Typical liberal response. Taking smoke into your lungs is a good thing!, no personal responsibility at all. The government also tells me that killing your unborn baby is OK, but I know that is wrong. Some things you need to figure out on your own.

You are also suggesting that a person can't change poor behavior.....you are wrong there too.

Shame on you for being so weak.

  • In the 1940s when your mother begain smoking there was no question that it was anything other than a good thing; in fact , until 1973 cigarettes were supplied to armed forces personnel in Red Cross packages. I have no objection whatsoever to my tax dollars being used to alleviate irreparable damage done to previous, misinformed generations.

  • My mom knew smoking was bad for her 40 years ago, it said so right on the pack, she chose to smoke anyway. Poor choise. Do you believe everything you are told? If you take smoke into your lungs and this causes you to hack, are you unable to put two and two together? We are raising a generation of whimps that only want to blame others for their situation. You could be president of the club!

  • Your mom had no idea that her government-sanctioned, taxed AND endorsed cigarette habit would eventually ruin her health, yet she was taxed on every pack of cigarettes. Why should those same taxes not have payed for her hospice care. Please except my condolences on your loss, I dont mean to harp on you for your Moms habit.

  • We haven't lost her yet!, but the fact is she knew for years that smokes were bad for her. She even said "I could quit, I don't want to, I enjoy smoking"

  • All addicts enjoy their habit, otherwise they wouldn't be addicts. Most regret their addiction because of the negative health consequences: I don't suppose your Mom ever encouraged any of her offspring to smoke.

  • Amazingly, none of my 4 siblings or I smoke. My brother and I are recovering alcholics. He has been sober for 15 years and me for 8, so I belive in the power people have to "fix" their own problems. Everyone needs help sometimes, but you should look to yourself first, then family, then friends, neighbors, your church, local charities......then as a last resort, the government.....The problem is people look to the government first.

  • What if it didn't say so on the pack? I agree with you for the most part. Individuals need to take more responsibility for there own choices. However, they first have to know all the facts. If she new ahead of time, that's one thing, if she didn't know she cannot be held responsible. I think there is a roll for government to protect the consumer in the regard.

  • Why your "tax money"? Why not your own money? Just VOLUNTARILY donate to soldiers who have fallen victim to this illness. Why do you need the government? Cut out the middle man and do it yourself! I'll never understand you leftists. If you think the government does such a good job at helping the underdog, why give to charity at all? Just overpay your taxes every year.

  • Tax money IS our own money, and we havr every right to tell the government how to spend it.

  • Why not let individuals spend there own money? Why have the government spend it for us? Cut out the middle man. Do you think the government knows how to spend your money better then you do?

  • "Why not let individuals spend there own money? Why have the government spend it for us?"

Because choices that affect an entire community/country are better made collectively than individually.

  • Their is no such thing as a "community." Their are only individuals. And that is how markets work for the best interests of everyone! When you go to the Dr. you don't ask him about price because your insurance company is paying the entire cost. So health providers don't have to compete over cost nor quality because the prices are hidden. It's a horrible system. We need to adopt an individual insurance market, like they have in singapore.

  • Human beings have always sought to form and lived in communities, be they families, tribes, city-states or countries.

The neo-liberal's refusal to acknowledge this irrefutable fact is laughable, if not pitiful.

  • Civilization is the progress toward a society of privacy. The savage's whole existence is public, ruled by the laws of his tribe. Civilization is the process of setting man free from men.

  • I think an anthropologist might object to your little assertion about what a "savage" is in regards to his community/ies that, say, a libertarian loser is not in regards to his.

As to your cute definition of what civilisation is, I'm afraid it will remain just that: a cute definition that describes very little and assumes too much - quite irrelevant in any case. ;)

  • Does it ever give you pause that 9 out of 10 nobel prize winning economists are Libertarian minded? Just curious?

  • So we are pulling numbers out of our hats now.

    That didn't take too long.

  • Those are factual statistics, I dare you to present evidence refuting them.

  • "Factual" statistics - are there any other kind?

What you presented was not 'statistics', boy, but an unsupported remark.

    I'm done wasting my time.

Oh, but one more thing: Joseph Stieglitz, Amartya Sen and Paul Krugman, all won Nobels prizes for Econ. Sciences, neither would be caught dead espousing 'libertarian' dogmas.

I invite all of those reading this to check out these three names and the 27 names that Mr. Libertarian will present in defence of his claim.

  • By the way, I do believe in helping others, I just don't believe it should be mandated by the government, because the government is ineffective. Church groups and charities do a much better job with fewer resources.

  • That is very true.

  • Some comments on this discussion page are outrageous. HOw childish and simplistic that people call him names? Does it matter what he looks like? How materialistic and shallow are people?! He's telling you there's a health crisis and people call him names?! Grow up!

  • Along with smoking, obesity is one of the major problems facing Americans with respect to their health. Sicko is about the problems in the health care industry. If individuals put down the cigarette, stopped stuffing their mouths with double cheesburgers, and exercised a little bit, health care costs would be drastically reduced.

  • The fact that someone who excercises little individual responsibility towards their own health, then requests for a system where individual responsibility is not rewarded, goes against common sense.

  • That's a totally different issue. Being ABLE to visit a doctor is a BASIC human right, not a luxury like it it in USA!

  • There is no such thing as free health care. We pay for it by paying taxes. It's money we never actually see, but it sure comes in handy when the cancer strikes :)

  • the only reason Mr.Moore is looking for universal healthcare is because the tight bastard wont pay for his own liposuction.

  • I bet he does not even care about his body.

  • Harvey <3's Hillary

  • jesus, harvey scares me

  • One things for sure is that he's a fat cunt! i'd rather be controled by 'political elites?' than be at the forefront of nations in fat fuck production (may i remind you that in america you have to be filthy rich to be president, and in the uk people from 'any' finnacial position can, will, and have often gone on to become members of parliament. so how this contradicts true freedom is besides me)

  • michael moore has nice legs

  • By 2017, Soc Security will start disapaiting. By 2041, the budget for medicare will be the size of the entire Federal budget today; which increased 2 1/2 times since 2000.

Yeah Michael, let's put 47 million more people on government entitled healthcare.

Do you want to pay for it?

  • It's called taxes retard. Works fine for Canada, the UK, France, etc.

  • First of all you live in Canada. As if you have gotten the slightest idea of how our gov't uses influx of money.

Secondly, the value of the American dollar has dropped 97% in the past 100 years. So yes- let's get 47 million people dependant on the gov't, and the tax payers pay with money that's got no intrinsic value.

Word of advice: stay in school, junior.

  • I may be confused here but are you suggesting Moore is only for free (not for profit) healthcare for the 47 million people without insurance? No he's for everybody getting it.

Billions are being spent on the war each week. Where does that come from? The tax payers. So why not healthcare? I mean you're paying taxes for fire depts, cops, etc. So why not healthcare?

Word of advice: Don't call me junior. Have some respect for other people.

  • Billions being spent on the war each week - correct: Billions WE'RE BARROWING FROM OTHER COUNTRIES.

The central bank in this country has inflated the dollar to next to no worth. If medicare alone is the size of the federal budget, there are less wage earners than recipients = bankruptcy. Our gov't never gaurentees social benefits.

"Don't call me junior. Have some respect.."

Do you mean after you called me a RETARD?

    Seriously: grow up, junior.

  • Once again, you guys are still paying taxes for the war. The government id getting more from borrowing but ur still paying taxes on it.

If you can still pay taxes for:

    policing

    Fire fighters

    Public works

    Etc

Why not for healthcare? Can you explain to ne the difference between saving a life medically and saving a life from a fire? (Other than the obvious "Well he was in a burnin building and the other person got sick from pollution, or eating something, or jsut got cancer).

  • Sure can: pay local taxes to your local fire dept: saves lives. Pay taxes to a NATIONAL Health care institution = politicians who REGULATE where the money goes and to whom. This is history 101 junior. You don't let people who write the laws of the land control access to ANYBODY's healthcare.

BTW: I don't support the war. And if I lived in a country that had a true system of economic freedom..

.. I wouldn't be forced to PAY for this war.

    Freedom... spectacular notion, isn't it?

  • The taxes you would pay would go to pay the doctors, nurses, surgeons, etc so you can get medical treatment.

  • The gov't acts as a third party partaking in the transaction of a human being's necessary medical needs. Using redistributed earnings. Before getting healthcare was no different than buying groceries or clothes: providers would compete by giving the best services at the lowest possible prices.

It all went to hell when the gov't got involed in the 60's.

You're from Canada. Don't tell me your system is all sunshine and roses.

  • It's not but it's a hellofa lot better than you're system.

  • *laughs*

Which is why Canadians come down here all of the time for healthcare.

You know nothing more about our "system" than what Michael Moore says about it.

Don't go through life with blinders on, especially when it comes to issues like this.

  • The belief that a lot of Canadians go to America for health care is a myth.

Studies based on in-patient discharge data, by the prominent research periodical Health Affairs, show that most Canadian admissions to U.S. hospitals were unrelated to waiting times or to leading-edge

technology commonly associated with this myth.

The vast majority of health care services provided to Canadians by U.S. hospitals were emergency orurgent care, mostly related to travel within the U.S.

  • *smiles*

And can you quote me any other sources besides "the prominent research perodical Health Affairs"?

Just can't lose an argument, can ya junior?

  • *smiles*

I have researched the flocking of canadians to the US in the past. Not only have I asked nurses and doctors, I have looked at many sites.

We don't flock to America at all. The very rich may go to avoid waiting time for something small, but nobody is rushing across the border to pay 10 000 + dollars for some treatment.

I'm not the one losing the argument old man.

  • And I never said Canadian's "flock" to America.

An aspiring on-the-field reporter, are we? Or is asking nurses & doctors and doing research on American healthcare something you do in your spare time away from youtube?

"I'm not the one losing the argument old man."

It's time for you to go outside and play.

  • Omg, you didn't say flock. I am so sorry for saying a word. My bad.

Actually asking nurses and doctors (who are family btw, so it isn't like I went to a hospital for the specific intent of talking to them). The reason I researched it in the first place was because someone like you said that a lot of Canadians are going to the US.

It's time for you to take your Orap and go to bed.

  • It's funny how you need to keep coming back here to prove me wrong.

"It's time for you to take your Orap and go to bed."

    - I'll do that, sport. And think about how clever you can be.

  • At least you can admit to being wrong. Good on ya.

  • I never was 'wrong'. You have to keep coming back to try to PROVE me wrong.

Buh-bye now junior. Go be a snot-nose elsewhere.

  • Yes I have proven you wrong, if not I have a solid argument which you fear to counter.

I'll be the bigger man and refuse to call you a name in response to "Buh-bye now junior. Go be a snot-nose elsewhere".

    Good day sir.

  • Well, you could have said "retard" because of course that doesn't count.

You're argument is fine for people who believe living in financial indentured servitude to one another under the control of political elites is actually ok. Here in the US, that contradicts living in a truly free society. Unless you live here and spend time understanding it, you'll continue to outright refuse to believe there's merit to what I've said.

    Buh-bye.

  • Freedom involves 50million people without health insurance? Wire tapping and torture?

You just don't understand about the universal system that's all.

  • Who said anything about wire tapping and torture?

    Weren't you leaving?

  • No, you were leaving.

    You were talking about freedom.

"You're argument is fine for people who believe living in financial indentured servitude to one another under the control of political elites is actually ok. Here in the US, that contradicts living in a truly free society."

  • Happy Birthday, Harvey. 3-19-08.

  • michale moore needs some health insurance.....fat ass

  • You would think that with all of the money he draws in from the dull minded sheep he'd do something about the cellulite to intelligence ratio.

All the fat is in his head, I can't believe people flock to see his communist propaganda.

  • LOL are you kidding me?!

  • Even when Moore isn't right I'm sure that there are problem with the health care in US.

DO NOT forget: the US the only high industrialized country in the world where the PESTIS is going around!

  • When peace stands for surrender, fear, loss of dignity and freedom, it is no longer peace. It's suicide ~ Oriana Fallaci

  • Glen Rose, Texas - On the night of January 8, 2008, dozens of eyewitnesses in the region of Texas southwest of Dallas/Fort Worth reported seeing strange combinations of flashing lights in the sky. Everyone said the lights were either on a single huge craft or were in rigid formation. All agreed that the lights pulsed on and off, but not together. One light would come on and go off while one or more at random distances would flash on and off.

  • if our government runs health care like they run AMTRACK, we are in big trouble !!

  • What's AMTRACK? I'm Canadian, I'm not familiar with that term.

  • Actually, I read that one of clues of American success in the las two centuries is that they were pioneers in spreading public libraries all over the country, to remote places where there weren´t universities.

  • Well this doesn't help to the sinking American education nowadays. Not to mention the lack of spreading any universal health-care

  • I wish America learns from Norway, how to treat Americans and other human beings better than America does. With out having the heart for the very people who served America all their life time, bluffing about being the richest empire and the super power of the world, won't do any one any good, because empires rise and fall, with grace or with out grace, depending how they treated their own people. See the film, "Sicko", and you will know that IT'S ABOUT TIME FOR AMERICA TO CARE.

  • people who have no solutions are in denial about how the Usa treats its people just resort to derrogative comments and personal attacks. how weak and guilty you come acroos. how many of your own children in usa die each year?

  • His legs r huge!!

  • "They're only interested in how much profit movies can make, not the content." - What? If you took anything out of this video you would realise that the discussion that takes place in it is on the content of the film and their Michael Moore's and Harvey Weinstein's opinions this content.

  • Why is Michael Moore sitting amongst the Hollywood Jew elite who never even have to worry about healthcare or paying for health insurance? They're only interested in how much profit movies can make, not the content.

  • hey guardedwing....shut up. we dont need your crappy "tell me something good about america" ....america needs solutions to problems, and change....

    not bogus patriotism and manipulation

  • "Hillary Saddam Clinton is a vicious Jew-hater who wants to relentlessly pressure heroic little Israel to commit national suicide by creating an independent PLO-Hamas-Fatah Muslim terrorist state..."

Why should America commit national suicide by always paying for, siding with, and defending Israel?

  • This Guy is a Great reason not to give every one Health care. What a fucking PIG!

  • I wonder how Michael Moore would feel if his hard-earned income was dictated by the government. Why should physicians, who've spent most of their lives studying and paying for an education, have their income be dictated by the government?

We need to rid ourselves of HMOs and managed care. They're the culprits who've destroyed our medical care. This entitlement mentality that people have needs to stop.

  • I agree, entitlement to life-saving care is a terrible expectation.

  • It is when you are expecting discounts or freebies.

  • I'm for national health care, BUT THE CLINTONS' PLAN - KEEPING *ALL* THE PRIVATE INSURANCE COMPANIES INVOLVED - WOULD HAVE BEEN A HUGE BUREAUCRATIC *DISASTER* - AND PEOPLE COULD *STILL* HAVE BEEN DENIED PAYMENT FOR INDIVIDUAL INSTANCES!

ONE *GOOD* UNIVERSAL SINGLE PAYER PUBLIC NATIONAL HEALTH CARE PLAN FOR *ALL* CITIZENS IS THE ONLY WAY TO BEGIN.

And then we use what works best in other universal national health care countries and skip any shortcomings.

  • Kucinich he has a plan Hillary does not have a darn thing and takes Pay Offs from Insurance and Pharm co I am voting for Kucinich 2008

  • Moore needs to go on a diet. i think he wants free health care so he can gastric bi pass surgery

  • can someone please answer this question for me, why dont people just go get a job that supplies you with heathcare insurance. I currently work for Pepsi, and I have really good health care. WHY DONT YOU JUST GET A JOB THAT SUPPLIES YOU WITH HEALTHCARE?!!!!! please someone please answer my question. please

  • hey moron what he is saying is even if you have insurance will won't get any treatment when you need it insurance companies will deny, deny, deny until you die or give up comforting isn't it?????

  • I have Kaiser I pay five bucks a paycheck (I get paid once a week) and i'm covered with like anything. Everytime I have had an operation done or been in the hospital Kaiser covered it. GET A JOB THAT SUPPLIES YOU WITH HEALTHCARE!!! come work for Pepsi with me, you make good money. Or Coca-Cola.

  • or move out of the country..lol

  • When you have a job with healthcare, that puts someone without a job with no healthcare, get it? Also that isn't what they are saying they are saying, and I'll say it all caps so you get the point, EVEN IF YOU HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE YOU ARE GUARUNTEED COVERAGE! YOU COULD DIE FROM YOUR HEALTH INSURANCE DECISIONS!

  • He is such a fat ass

  • Exactly, how much more american could he be?

  • Michael Moore is a true patriot. He actually uses his brains, unlike most of the Washington politicians who are corrupt.

  • heart bypass in the United States costs $130,000, but just $10,000 in India and $11,000 in Thailand. A hip replacement in the United States would cost $43,000 but just $12,000 in Thailand or Singapore. Hysterectomy costs are about $20,000 here but $3,000 in India. Please encourage medical tourism.

  • America is sick. America needs universal education and universal health care.

  • A lot of supporters of universal healthcare have rather simple-minded analyses. But I still agree with them. According to an article on wikipedia about "Healthcare", Afghanistan and Iraq have universal healthcare that is funded by the U.S. Very ironic. The federal government pays for the universal coverage for two other countries but not its own.

  • If he cared so much about the 9/11 rescue workers and their health he would take the 50% of the profits from this movie that is going in his pocket and help them out a bit. Don't you think?

  • .....WHAT

  • I saw "Sicko" last night in Winter Park, FL.

Everyone should see this film. A real "eye opener".

Today I'm writing a letter to my Senator. Let's finish what Michael Moore has started for us. Thank you Michael!

  • I just saw the movie tonight and in a weird way I liked it. Moore is a director who can pull your emotional strings. That being said, he does raise thought provoking questions and mindful thinking on this "crisis" in America.

The film won't do well domestically in the U.S. because health care is a very dry topic and it's running up against some very stiff competition in mid Summer. The Weinstein Company and LG should have waited until October.. a slow month for main stream film to come out.

  • You assholes better see Sicko really quick because it only made $4.5 million it's first week. hahahahahahaha Can you say FLOP!!!!!!

The American Public have spoken & Bush and Cheney RULE...don't question it, Just accept it you fucking peice of shit liberals.

Gotta love America. For those who see this peice of shit movie get a life!!!

  • Sieg Heil.

  • You'll change your mind when you get cancer and can't handle your copays, forcing you to declare bankruptcy. Yes, as long as it's someone else's problem, and not yours, you'll be convinced our healthcare system doesn't need fixing. Answer this for me; Is it right that 1 out of 6 americans doesn't have health coverage? Do you really trust a system that forces people into bankruptcy because of medical costs? Explain the wisdom of such a system. I anxiously await your reply.

  • You have to realize that all I care about in this world is making lots of money. This isn't a debate on what's right or wrong, what's fair or unfair.

But, seriously, can you blame the health insurance companies for what they are doing? Isn't it the American way to make as much money as you can?

If you make yourself wealthy you take care of problems that could exist down the road. I agree the system is stacked against the poor.

  • Maybe the American way needs to be revised. I've done enough travelling throughout the world to admit when I've seen a better way. Democracy may have been invented in the U.S., but it's been improved upon in europe. You saw the movie, you heard the comments of the Brits and French, as well as Americans living abroad. Wouldn't it be nice if we all didn't have to work so hard for something so unquestionably civilized; universal health coverage? (continued below)

  • Democracy may have been invented in the U.S., but it's been improved upon in Europe?!? Where did you go to school??? Is your history teacher still empoyed? Are my tax dollars paying his salary? Shame.

  • sorry, my previous post was a reply for skppen67's post

  • Van23xeon, you can't tell me it's a good thing that 50 million americans are without healthcare. You can't tell me it's fair when a healthcare provider denies somebody coverage because of a preexisting illness. When americans (those with and without coverage) are declaring bankruptcy because of overwhelming medical costs, THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE SYSTEM. Let's put our false pride aside, and admit we've failed to provide an adequate system for ALL americans.
