Sceimhiuil. This makes me question why won't the Irish won't quit speaking the harsh colonial language and reclaim their own beautiful language. Is there a more breathtaking, unique and soulful way of expressing yourself? I doubt it.
i was never very good at irish in school but this is brilliant, even if i dont understand every word. im only out of school 3 years and i forgot already:(
So you should learn it again, and use that language everywhere where it's possible. Cause, it's very bad that national and native language isn't widely spoken in your country.
bishop can put the youth and enery back in to this language of ours. The reason many people over the years tended not to be too pushed with the language was the boring style in which it was drilled in to us in school in byegone years. Luan is a very good example to young and old singer/songwrighers. This song makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck sort of speak. Bliliant to hear it in irish.

Cuir na deor i mo shúil, tá tú á mo chreathnú
(It brings tears to my eyes, sends shivers down my spine)
Mar ó am go h-am mothaím thú, yeah, yeah,
(At times I feel your hand touch mine, yeah yeah)
Bí ar ais i mo shaol, ná fág mé i mbaol
(Come back into my life, and things will be alright)
Ní leanfadh mé gan thú
(I just cant live without you)

Verse 2
Táim anseo liom fhéin, ach níl tú i gcéin, mar bíonn tú thart gach lae
(Im here on my own, but im not alone, cause youre surrounding me)
Tá gluaiseacht an t-am stopthe i bhfad, ón am gur fhág tú mé
(The clock on the wall has stopped long ago, its hands will never meet)
Go bhfillfidh tú chugam go luath, ar ais i mo shaol
Leanfadh mé liom ach ní fiú dom, táim fós faoi dhraíocht do mhéid

Blian eile ar strae s tú fós an té a dimigh le mo ghrá
(Another years gone and youre still the one with everything I need)
Tá tú ag luí chomh domhain i mo chroí, mar a bhíomar tráth
(You still gotta place so deep in my heart, the way we used to be)
Feicim do aghaidh ag troid in aghaidh gach oíche s gach lae
(Your smiling face, I cant replace, no matter who I see)
Níl éalú dom, ní féidir liom, táim fós faoi dhraíocht do mhéid
