i am very proud to be graduated from The Royal Military Academy SANDHUST i was commissioned in 1987, really nothing has been been changed since then, and i still remember the MOTTO (Serve To Lead) welldone Shaiekh Majid
I was an overseas cadet at Sandhurst in 96/97 (cc963), and am glad to see that almost nothing has changed. Nevertheless, please do not be fooled by the titles, I saw many overseas cadets from poor countries who were much better than the royalty one. Anyway, it is an honour to say, for anyone in the military, that you trained at Sandhurst.
Many overseas cadets who train at Sandhurst are in the same situation as say a British citizen taking a scholarship at Harvard university. The education and the degree you get are the same as anywhere else but you have the prestige of saying "Harvard" when asked where you were educated. Once you graduate, you don't become an american citizen, you remain your own nationality with a degree from an American establishment.
Indeed, but I have to say that many of the British institutions of learning are far more prestigious. Please do not be insulted by this, there are many fine schools in the states as well.
All of we young boys become men. We will always have our honour no matter what happens in the world. Sandhurst has delt with Royals and made them Honourable Men.
im confused what this video is for. and why a foreign military leader passed out a british soldier and who the hell is he? the description could be so much better .
could it be because many Gulf states officers have trained at Sandhurst and because the Sheikh is once of our most loyal allies in the Gulf and because it is a mark of mutual respect that he should represent our own sovereign?
10% of all those training at Sandhurst are from foreign nations.
It is a great honour for the leaders of our allies to train as us. It certainly goes a long way to create a sense of loyalty in that nations leaders to us.
It is an honour to be an Officer. It was my honour to servere as an Infrantry Officer with the 82 and the 101st in Vietnam. As an old man, I can die with this honour.
should help when the Arab Spring hits their patch!
