Basketball in movies doesn't get more authentic than this. Those are real people playing the game in that intro. We don't see odd looking shots followed by an immediate switches to the rim where you see a swish from a totally different angle. A highly touted prep prospect doesn't beat his 40+ year old Dad by one in a close comeback. The sad thing is this isn't even a basketball movie or even a sports movie and it does sports better than Bull Durham, Any Given Sunday, Above the Rim, etc.
