looks like the first action mmorpg ive seen in awhile. Its not a stupid point and click mmo,and not a retarded "30 second cooldown on all skill and potions". it actually looks pretty good.
@Jstudly771 well tera combat is non-targeting, guild wars 2 combat is still targeting oriented. tera graphic is better than GW2, but GW2 arts are more impressive tho. GW2 storyline is epic, but tera's story is also pretty decent because its NA publisher has put in a lot of hardwork into co-developing the story of TERA. GW2 will still beat tera but only because its more dynamic, sequel to the popular GW1, has a lot more marketing done than tera, western developed reputation.
it must be such a fucking risk to make an mmo. Considering how much it can fail, you still have to have loads of servers in case it dosen't - and well.... while i don't think this i gonna be an utter fail, it dosen't stand a chance next to SWTOR, WoW and Guild Wars 2

Each lvl takes the same amount of time to clear all the way to 80.Plus the sidekick lvl scaling etc system is in so people can play ny lvl of content whenever they want. u can pvp anytime from 1-80, u will scale in lvl. Vis versa for high lvls; can scale down. They r taking rifts dynamic game play to the next lvl
I believe when they ask you ur gender in an Online Retail MMORPG when your making your account, Thats the Gender you are forced to play as in the game, Unless ur playing as a race that forces you to be a gender. So there would be less Guys playing as girl characters.(Just my opinion) d(^_^)b
it will be out for the fall, the game is out in Korea and is doing ok i believe. The game has already been translated and it COULD be released right now. They are intentionally holding back and creating more content for the game so it is even better for release since in Korea many left the game after max leveling b/c of lack of content

For the type of MMO world of warcraft is, I think WoW is the best of that type of MMO. This is why I am glad that developers are putting out new RPGs that are both unlike wow and tons of fun. I keep seeing "wow clones" which are really just games that use the same gameplay formula that mmos have used for a long time. The really sad part is that for so many years no company has put out one such game that is more fun that WoW. Rift was definitely well polished compared to the release of WoW.
Survival is of course a strong instinct, but this trailer provides no reason why mortals should stand up for their gods. Why are gods needed for their survival in the first place? Are gods merely ascended mortals? Higher technology results in being a god? Why are the "enemies" wanting destruction? Is destruction of gods bad for mortals? If so, why?

@arsening That's not true. Leveling has not been removed from GW2, the level cap is currently 80. However, the emphasis has been placed on skill development, which makes sense given the style of gameplay.
@nadne92 There is a lot of speculation that it will be out this year... but I kind of doubt it b/c they have not made an official announcement by now. The game already seems very fun & well polished though, so who knows... maybe in time for the holiday??? That's what I'm hoping at least.

this is an action mmo where you actually have to aim your character's attacks/spells for them to land and position yourself well (less rng-based and more skill-based). unlike most mmos where you hit a button and your ability is going to land on your target. i don't know about you guys, but to me it sounds/looks like a really awesome idea

WoW doesn't do a good enough job to present their lore to the players because they only bring it up through a wall-of-text that most players will skip just so they can reach the end-game, because that is the only part of the game that matters. Not that it matters much...

this is an action mmo where you actually have to aim your character's attacks/spells for them to land and position yourself well (less rng-based and more skill-based). unlike most mmos where you hit a button and your ability is going to land on your target. i don't know about you guys, but to me it sounds/looks like a really awesome idea

It's so easy to get lost in the game your playing online. And you can totally forget that in a few months, you'll have to get fifity bucks and buy an Xbox LIVE Gold Membership card at the game store. They would have to put cash shop items in there which generally means pay to win, and you would have to spend more money than it would cost for a monthly sub, id rather pay monthly and be equal to everyone around me.

@Shadowerth There's nothing wrong with Pay 2 Play. Just get a job? It's never expensive, only broke people complain about monthly payments. Some of them, sad to say, also have netflix accounts. Go figure. It'll most likely be P2P, so you can just wait for GW2. Waste of money, though? I highly doubt that. Sure, if your checks aren't big or you don't get paid, of course. Survival comes first. But it's not a waste for people, such as myself, who get hefty paychecks.

@Shadowerth dude... just bcuz something has a monthly fee doesn't mean it's a waste of money... like WoW, Rift, EVE online, Star Trek Online, and other MMOs that aren't a waste in my opinion.
But there are F2Pgames that are good... I will give you that much but most monthly subscriptions aren't even that much like $14.99 a month seems like the highest that they go.... and that's not even that much at all... but that really depends on your financials, and I'm hoping this is F2P too :) haha

@borjan121 well im gonna guess you don't play pvp then. because that is where you will truely notice the difference of pay to win f2p mmo's but if you just want it for the pve content there is plenty of free games about, just check out mmohut or even go on mmorpg[dot]com and click gameslist, there is a huge list there.

Immortality: Eternal life. Can die from unatural causes. (killed in battle etc.) see vampires.
Invincible: Undefeatable: Can die from natural causes (old age, sickness, etc) see Alexander the great.
It is only really when you combine those two that you get the status quo generally, and unjustly known as "god mode."
Because gods have been known to be killed both by men and by other gods throughout religious history.
