Every time he was on one of these roasts, it was just joke after joke after joke after joke, and they were all fucking hysterical. You can tell that he made these roasts about 50% funnier. People had to try and keep up with him, they couldn't, but them trying made them funnier. It just seems a little bit dead (no pun intended) ever since he died.
