  • yo kiero unooooooooo

  • Yeah. She's ripping people off. we adopted 3 greyhounds so far over 11 years and I NEVER had to pay 200$. And it's not the money that pisses me off, I'd pay 1000$ for a greyhound anyday, its the fact there are SO many retired racers that get put down because they can't find a home.

  • I'm gonna come look at them tomorrow I think!!!!!

  • worlds most beautiful dogs

  • I wish I could adpt one but I live in Greece....:(

  • thank you people you realy have a big hart.. :)

  • Love the collar wall in the back.

Greyhounds deserve a home. Retirement is the best part of their lives.

  • Rescuing my greyhound was one of the best things I did! She died recently but I was glad I gave her 11 out of 13 years in a good home. They make great pets and despite their size, they are very docile, gentle, obedient pets.

  • who the fuck dislikes this? 2 assfucks

  • The only thing better than greyhounds is greyhound rescuers.

  • What gorgeous, sincere animals.... they deserve the best lives. Thank you for what you do......

  • Ha the Greyhound at 1:52 looks just like my greyhound except it is i a little darker.

  • I just adopted a greyhound a few moths ago. I would really love to get a video of her and my other dog to gether. Quick some one pass me a camrecorder.

  • @erehgregrhegrhegr I have 2 retired racers, and love them, we have to all get together to stop greyhound racing, it makes me sick...just like horse racing....and the running of the bulls...bull fighting...one man not too long ago go hurt, with bull fighting...oh well..did not bother me at all......whatever...........

  • I have adopted a greyhound from Ms. Vickie and can't tell you how impressed I am with her and her adoption organization. Our new pet quickly adjusted to our family and has become my son's new best friend. If you are looking for a loving, sweet, humble companion, you should consider a greyhound from the MSGAO. Go Senna!!

  • generally, how old are the retired race greyhounds? and how long do most greyhounds live?

  • Typically they are 2-5 years old when they go up for adoption. The life span is around 12-14 years.

  • cool thanks, i wanted to adopt one but was afraid that once id get it it would be super old and not live long. I am most likely going to adopt one when i graduate college!

  • Our Stretch joined our family in November of 2006 and he is such a joy. We hadn't planned on adopting a greyhound, but we are sure glad that we did. He is so gentle. I'd recommend a greyhound to anyone looking for a great companion.

  • Ha ha thats how our greyhound came into our lives. It was an over night desision and then the next thing we know two weeks later we took her home with us. Havent regreted yet.

  • Next month it will be 3 years that we've had Stretch. No regrets here either. Except for being a little whiney, he's awesome. lol. Never mastered stairs, so he has his bed in the computer room downstairs. Doesn't do fetch, but always fun to watch him do laps in the backyard. I've never had a dog who heels so well on his walks, though.

  • Oh so is he like an ex racer then?? coz mine is. Yer she wines a little but she is great to sit and have a cuddle with. It's funny coz she lays up side down some times and falls a sleep like that lol. No she doesn't fetch or any thing like that but yer it is very funny to watch her run laps. Also my greyhound doesnt pull neither i think when they arre racing gthey are trained to walk well on the lead.

  • He is an ex-racer. He competed in 26 races and came out pretty much unscathed. He does sit, paw, other paw, lie down and roll over. He has to sit for his meals and treats. I thought the same thing about the walk training. They are used to being handled a lot, so he is also good with grooming and stuff. I've given up on the stairs. He won't go near elevators either, even with treat motivation.

  • Ha whish mine did that but then we decided she doesn't really need training much but she has learned how to open the bin lol.

  • They are fast learners, but also kind of independent. They can be pretty cat like, really. Stretch will brush up against you like a cat would. He also lets you know when he doesn't want to be disturbed. He will give a little growl if he wants to be left alone to nap or sleep. But mostly he is very mellow and cool.

  • Yer thats greyhounds inside out. I think they all act pretty much the same lol.

  • RIP GO BRONCO

  • We adopted a retired racer that gave blood for 18 months for emergency vet care. He is a wonderful addition to our family of 2 Italian Greyhounds. We are so blessed to have Stiles as part of our family. Thank you for your informative and beautiful video. Kudos to you for your volunteer work and care of life.

  • Greyhounds make absolutely wonderful pets!

  • I have never in my life heard of a greyhound attacking a child or small animal. True, some like to chase other animals but they are the sweetest most affectionate dogs you can get!!! Adopt a greyhound today! You WONT regret it!!!

  • Greyhounds and galgos rock! I have one myself from Spain and he is really an awesome dog. Soon i'll be getting my second one.. respect to all greys and galgo's

  • I have adopted a retired greyhound here in Australia, he's not in the least bit intersted in cats, and loves small children because they are at the prefect height to rub his ears, and hug him!

  • I LOVE GREYHOUNDS

  • To monk1669: You shouldn't flaunt your ignorance on a public forum - keep it to yourself!

    To IHeartCats - I have 5 cats, a terrier and 2 hounds - they're a barrel of fun!

  • Really!?! I only have 1 cat might be getting another one i really want a retired greyhound though they sound like alot of fun!

  • ok the reason people put ex racing greyhounds down is because when they ar ex racers they have stamped ears(I.D codes) and when they ar rehomed and someone decides they dont want it any more they sometimes set them free or if the dog runs away the dog could cause an accident, kill sheep or attack a child and if this does happen they will check the dogs ears and it will trace it back to its first owner.

  • ok monk, get a grip. most greyhounds will not attack a child, kill sheep, or cause an accident. i do have a problem with the racing greyhound kennels, i worked at one. and most are nothing but a glorified puppy mill! they breed the bitches every season, and if they don't make it on the track, or get hurt, most are put down, because they don't want to take the time to place them with greyhound adoption.

  • Southland Greyhound Park has a great adoption program.www.southlandgreyhound.com.

  • nicest dogs of all breeds greyhounds! get 1!

  • This is an excellent, informative video about adopting retired racing greyhounds as pets. Outstanding!

  • I met my first Greyhound this week at work. I fell in love she is the best! We ran laps together this morning, she is faster than me of corse. I hope to someday adopt a retired greyhound for myself (too many cats right now). Coolest dog I have ever met

  • I love dogs, I look into the eyes of my german shepherd and I think about greyhounds being put down...it just ain't right...

  • Greyhounds are awesome pets! I am a 2 time adopter and cant imagine not having one in my home! We recently adopted a coon hound, and love her, but our next rescue will be another greyhound! great with the kids, the cats, and so gentle and loving!!!

  • i just love greyohunds

  • ive got a greyhound / labrador mix...they have the nicest personalities...:( y do ppl put them down..

  • i love greyhounds, but that lady is fucking anoying!

  • Hay SparkleScrew you man. Vicki's out there busting her ass trying to save these poor dogs and you are negative about it! Your Retarded Man. **!** Read between the lines

  • The lady in that video is so sweet she goes out of her way to make sure the dogs go to loving homes, I have adopted a dog from her and she is AWESOME!!! I hope you don't have a greyhound, if so poor dog.

  • Coming from a greyhound-racing family, we do two things when a greyhound is retired, breed or adopt. I love these organizations! I am no longer on the farm, but one gay I will have a greyhound of my own!

  • I have a greyhound border collie cross 7 he has the nicest nature I have ever found in any dog.It pisses me off that greyhounds are often put down when they retire from racing.Keep up the god work, Vicki!

  • I agree, they do make exellent pets but I am anti-race.

  • I adopted but I'm not anit-racing reflexively. If there were no racing there would likely be few of these dogs and the health of the breed might have suffered. I do stand strongly on responsible ownership and treatment. So long as they are cared for properly, I have no complaint with raicing itself.
