  • how would i do this with an odd number of eyelets(13 pairs)?

  • @pinksakurablossoms With 13 pairs, the top pair of grommets will have the ribbon just going straight across. Then you can continue as usual having loops the rest of the way down. :)

  • i laced my corset this way and it seemed to keep my spine alined more comfortably. Its just my own opinion. Thanks for the tutorial

  • Can you please do a tutorial/review type video about synthetic whalebone? How it compares to steel boning, is it any good,...

  • @Becky1680 May I ask what types of corsets you buy from there because both my waist training corsets from corsets uk have had very long flat shoelace type laces but my steel underbust has had short round laces, it seems they vary a lot between styles

  • As well as making is slightly easier to tighten up by yourself this has another bonus - I buy a lot from corsets-uk, and whilst their products are beautiful it's been my experience that they like to give you the shortest laces they can get away with! This means that when using traditional lacing styles they can be somewhat difficult to put on, especially when new. This method uses up less laces as there aren't so many 'X's and means I can get more out of my lace!

  • Laces are rough and hold their own tension.

    2. Because no lacing goes over the lacing backbones they can flare outwards if you can't lace the corset entirely closed and this is coming from someone who only has 2-3 inches gap at the back of her corset.

    3. This won't apply to everyone but if you already have long laces, it can be a hassle to tie multiple bows to try and keep the length to a minimum and then tuck it under the corset. In this style with long laces, the bow must be worn outside.

  • My experience with this style of lacing;

Pros: 1. gives a lot of extra length to your laces so if they are quite short and you are struggling to hold the bunny ears around the front or get enough lace to pull, this is for you.

Cons: 1. hard to pick up the slack. My laces are slidey and easy to lace as is so when I'm going down the different sets of bunny ears the set I did before easily slide open again because not enough tension is kept. This, however, would be perfect if your laces are roug

  • @TheEvilViolin Thanks for your input! I agree this style might be more appropriate if you're using cotton laces (which have a bit more friction) and/or #00 grommets which tend to "grab" the laces more.

  • I would really like to see/hear your advice on doing a skeleton/summer corset. I am hungry for someone to guide me down that path. I've made 6 corsets so far and I think I'm ready for a lace based skeleton corset. Sounds delicious

  • @psychcjs Sure, but it will take me a couple months to get to that tutorial; I hope you don't mind the wait!

  • very nice video! I like it very much!

  • @MrDeathglam Thank you!

  • I just tried it... I find this pretty darned hard to lace up :/ Recently, since my corset has been seasoned already, I can close it almost completely... I'll try the straight lacing method instead...

  • Hmm neat :) i always like options. Thanks!

  • Ooh I'll have to try this one. Is that your white Timeless Trends corset you used in the other lacing videos?

  • @kwaniesiam Yep, I always use the same white corset; I think it shows the laces nicely. I definitely need to get new laces for it, though. This one keeps getting breaking and getting shorter and shorter. XD

  • I love this! I had a horrible time grabbing the x's when I would try to lace up, they always got tangled lol.

  • Im going to have to try this one... How would you put in your floating panel with this lacing style? (((HUGS)))

  • @phoenixjodirae You can just suspend the panel on the X's underneath. :) *hugsback*

  • Happy Holidays Lucy! I was wondering if you have ever wore a corset that has ever rided up in any sort of way when your sitting, walking, etc.

  • @kayjo101 If a corset fits you properly, then the waistline should sit snugly under the ribcage and so your own ribs will *mostly* prevent riding up (at least, once you get to a certain waist restriction). However after several hours I do experience a little bit of riding up especially if I'm wearing a longline corset and doing a lot of sitting (where my lap pushes up on the bottom of the corset). In that case I simply tug down on the corset and it's back in place. :)

  • Wow this is really pretty and I assume it's easier to tie! :) By the way, thanks for the info on the place where I could find boning. I'm probably going to make corsets more frequently now, i just love to make and wear them! As soon as I can I will leave you a video response showing you the corset I made using your tutorials.

  • @Silyah246 I look forward to seeing the finished product! :)
