I followed your video to the letter and it worked, THANKS GOOD JOB. Except i got a message that ''a shortcut is missing and will not work . Do I want to delete this shortcut" I answered "NO", because I did not want to take the chance of it deleting my magicjack keypad or worse.
we bought a magic plus today..... Its sucking it gave us 3 numbers for our phone number so we cant register it..... Why cant people leave well enough alone... The old magic jack worked with no problems !!!!!!

Ok so to make it easier for all you guys, Go to device manager and uninstall all your "USB Mass Storage device" under "Universal Serial Bus" so make sure the magic jack is plugged in so you can see and uninstall the device as well. Then install the software first then plug it in and wait until it recognizes the device and your all set! By the way this method works with ANY windows :)

Our Dell desktop p/c (XP SP3 4gb memory) has 2 login's, 1st for me & 2nd for my wife. Have spent hours on chat with MJ, their 1st & 2nd level support is a farse. They finally had me copy the MJ startup to 'All Users' & it's even worse now. Switching users (not logging off) MJ attempts 3-5 times to restart & if one is on the phone, the call gets disconnected. W we find that leaving MJ on the screen & turn monitor off it works just fine. Live updates that reboot the p/c cause MJ not to work.

I got it to make calls without the phone just using my webcam mic but its a hassle having to switch sound option menues overtime I want to make a call. I havent tried the advise in the video yet but that will definitely be next on list.
i have a problem calling certain numbers i have yet been able to call my local hospital where i have relatives that work. and sometimes it won't let me call my house number anyone else have this problem.
Myself, I simply disconnect my MagicJack and shut down my computer. Then I restart my computer in "Safemode" and delete the MagicJack program. When I restart my computer I wait until it is fully booted up and reconnect my MagicJack and all is fine. But it must be done in "Safemode". Also; if you disconnect the outside supply connection from the phone company, you can plug your MagicJack into a wall connection and all of your phones will work.

For all those complaining about magicjack. I use it and this is the first problem I had with it. I call many people and they never been charged so please stop lying to others about it. The phone my occasionally get disconnected or pop up incorrect numbers on the callerID. But other than that it works and it's cheap. It really does work. N E questions just ask n i'll answer.

Vonage wants you to plug your computer into a jack on it so all your traffic filters through the Vonage box which connects directly to your internet connection. I'm sure they included it so you dont have to buy a hub or switch to connect more than one device to a dsl modem/cable modem with only 1 lan port, however I don't trust these companies with my data. You CAN buy a $80 thin client to run the MagicJack off like a HP 5720. This is what I'm doing

Some people have connection problems and other do not. There are reasons for that: If your internet connection is poor or you are downloading or surfing the web, you will experience the problems you are having. Your PC may be old or new. Your PC processor speed, RAM, etc. The best test is to try MJ on another PC or another internet connection (a friends) and see what happens. There are too many variables to pinpoint "a" single cause..
Yes, it works on 64 systems. The problem with it not always connecting does not happen often, but it does happen. I notice that it happens when I change something; such as moving MJ to another USB port or when plugging in my iPod. I have 4 USB port and I use them all. MJ uses more of my PCs power than the other USB devices so it contends for USB resources. It would probably be a good idea to put the MJ on it's own "powered" USB hub.

Yes, it works on 64 systems. The problem with it not always connecting does not happen often, but it does happen. I notice that it happens when I change something; such as moving MJ to another USB port or when plugging in my iPod. I have 4 USB port and I use them all. MJ uses more of my PCs power than the other USB devices so it contends for USB resources. It would probably be a good idea to put the MJ on it's own "powered" USB hub.
