He had accomplished what he always wanted to, and he wanted to spend some time with his family before his daughters moved out and began their own life. He'll be back in football, and unless he coaches the Bengals or Browns, I know I'll have a new second favorite team.

man... i miss cowher so much i hate that tomlin... cowher would always be yellin at the reffs and stuff.. i just enjoyed stuff like that but now all that tomlin does is chomp on his gum and thats about it...

Lot of people critiqued cowher ALOT, however in the top three best coaches of the past 10 years Bellichek (pardon the spelling), Dungy, and Cowher.

yeah, they don't realize that he was the youngest coach to go to the super bowl back in ht e90's and his win percentage is .619, which is actually higher than chuck Noll's. and there have been a lot of assistants under him who became head coaches.
