Laph goong is usually raw but if you don't like it raw u can cook it prepared for those who don't like it raw but its better raw in my opinion, but if u like it cooked its prolly better juz to make laap gai.
This is not goy goon. This recipe is more like lahp goong. Goy is raw and mushy dark color. This looks ok, but you seem to be missing the authentic way of laos cooking, such as bhang nouw and bha deak.
Hold up! Goy Goong is supposed to be raw! That's how my family always made it! Because the acid from the lime pretty much cooks it like ceviche, mama always put in msg too! Lao food uses a lot of msg and that's what makes food so good :)
@lostvokals I asked the elder they said people used the term Goy=slice thin and cooked Lapp=chop/grind up or mince usually raw..I'm confused myself as what word to use..if you get more info let me know.. thanks. :)
