i find it very annoying that there isn't one greg sage interview anywhere. it's like the band is in hiding or something. greg sage if you are reading this, please show yourself. we all want to hear you speak, and hear your thoughts. fuck the press. do it for your fans!
@chiphead777 at least 75% of their songs where self-written, nirvana where freakin awesome, and whenever they covered someone elses songs it was to make hype for the band they where covering
@chiphead777 why does music have to be original to make an impact? The wipers are not original either but it's good music. Hype is from TV and radio etc. Distance yourself from these things and there wont be any.
the dead kennedys said it the best (punk ant no religious cult punk is thinking for yourself u ant hardcore cos you spike your hair when the jock still lives inside your head0

They make the best of trees for shade =P
So.. what is real? and then theres relevant. Be both. Posting how you hate selling out only shows your fear of low morals. DIG INTO YOUR FEARS!
Any parent worried that their kids are going to grow up listening to shit should lock them in a room with this LP, Roky Erickson's 'Casting the Runes' and a bunch of music stuff and Don't let them out til they can play.
@iamaladycanyousaveme lol....wow, u get pissed.....and i don't really care....i believe if the members of the band are true artists, they will be happy that people want to hear their music, whether they profit from it or not....and like i said, money should be made playing shows. if people can download this for free, they'll have more money to go out and see them live....and btw, i live on my own, so i don't have copious amounts of money to spend on music.....
As someone that has played in numerous bands that have toured, across the country/world and has been paid for doing so, this is a total farce. There is no money to be made in playing live unless you are backed by corporate sponsors, are Tragedy, etc....regardless of how talented you are. If you don't have the money to buy an LP, but call a spade a spade.
If you disagree, that's fine, I don't go on youtube to pick fights, but your logic is just wrong.
@HelicopterHoneymoon well, true artists don't mind giving their art away for free.....the people who really suffer when you download music for free are not the artists, but the record company bean counters....and i don't care about those corporate fucks as they have no musical abilities or talents and are just leeching off the talents of others....if u wanna be a moneygrubber douche, that's fine....but i am not a moneygrubber....i am not motivated by money....and i don't care for that mindset.
That's right, true artists do not care about money. BUT, any artist has to eat. So do their kids. As you say, the band should make money playing live, this just simply isn't possible for most. They go on tour, and the only money that they see, usually comes from record/t-shirt sales. Most people don't buy records anymore, and as a result a lot of bands just don't tour.
Again, I'm not saying don't download, just don't pretend that you are so magnanimous.
also, re: corporate "fucks". What corporate fucks are making money off the wipers? The albums have been controlled by the man himself, Greg Sage, for at least a decade. Any money is going to him.
What punk bands have all of their profits going towards corporations? Not many that I know. The bands that deserve to be supported, the DIY bands are the ones that you end up hurting.
re: Moneygrubber "douche". when you tour across the USA in the winter with a van with no heat, when you come home to an eviction notice after spending all of your money to play your heart out, when you can't hold a steady job because you have to quit to tour the country, when you have to decide whether to eat or to buy a new set of guitar strings, then you can call me a money grubber douche.
@iamaladycanyousaveme AND FUCK AMAZON.....AMAZON IS SHIT.....i'm not gonna support a shit company like that....ALSO: when amazon sells this album, i can guarantee you that the band receives next to nothing for it.....so shut the fuck up....do you work for amazon or something you money-grubbing prick?
@iamaladycanyousaveme well sorry, i'm not rich like you....i wasn't born into riches nor do i have a lot of money right now...stop being such a money-grubber....it's yr imperialist attitude that's destroying this planet....and let me guess, you vote conservative too??
@iamaladycanyousaveme cuz the album is not readily available in stores....besides, #1 why wouldn't the band be happy that people are interested in their albums? #2 most of the revenue from buying albums goes to the record companies, so we're really stealing off corporate fat cats who make millions of dollars off the creativity of others #3 the band should be more concentrated on making money off live shows....AND, the recorded album is a dying form of media anyway.....unfortunate, but true.
@SamsTown68 - of course it exists. it's just not a corporate pressing, so you can't find it at walmart or amazon dot com. Use your imagination. This is REAL "independent" music. So go to the artist's on distribution website and get it straight from The Wipers. They aren't just saying they're independent cause they can't get a major label contract. They live and breathe true independent values.

Great cut. Saw them open for the DK's 1985. Doom Town and Let's lynch the landlord in one night. I could not ask for more, except for the next day off.
