  • i find it very annoying that there isn't one greg sage interview anywhere. it's like the band is in hiding or something. greg sage if you are reading this, please show yourself. we all want to hear you speak, and hear your thoughts. fuck the press. do it for your fans!

  • @dirtynuke go to kill from the heart. there is interview from MRR #13

  • i love the voice :)

  • Luv this song XD

  • MONOMENS cover of this KICKED some real ass, check it out NOW!

  • Kurt had such good taste in music.

    Miss you, Kurt.

  • Go on. Push me over the edge.

  • how unoriginal were nirvana?! I hate the hype that Nirvana has

  • @chiphead777 at least 75% of their songs where self-written, nirvana where freakin awesome, and whenever they covered someone elses songs it was to make hype for the band they where covering

  • @chiphead777 why does music have to be original to make an impact? The wipers are not original either but it's good music. Hype is from TV and radio etc. Distance yourself from these things and there wont be any.

  • this song is so fucking great :)

  • I can't believe I never heard this band before. They are great.

  • i think dave grohls foofighters should cover this song ... his voice and band sound is PERFECT for this song

  • the dead kennedys said it the best (punk ant no religious cult punk is thinking for yourself u ant hardcore cos you spike your hair when the jock still lives inside your head0

  • @jumpinhowlin You need to simma down there pal.

  • fuckin quality

  • @modernilluminati Oh no, the pictures don't have good enough quality for you? Wow that sucks :( Nothing to do with the music at all

  • Comment removed

  • @MASAI97 but the video is part of the production being shown :/ pics are pretty bad quality. Musics great though, and thats what counts the most.

  • Remember me manson's voice.

  • You can get a Wipers box set with their 3 best albums, just buy it and support these guys. It's worth it.

  • Uno dei migliori gruppi mai considerati !!!

  • I've got this song on tape, on vinyl, on minidisc, on ipod, on iphone, on mp3, on external harddisk and on itunes. Wouldn't want to loose it, you see,

I 've been playing this tune at least once a month for over 20 years now.

You can call it an anthem:-)

  • Go to zenorecords DAHT CAHM, go to the record store, and get the $17 box set with the Wipers' first 3 albums and tons of bonus stuff. Support Greg and his music!

  • It is simply very difficult to find a more underated yet more influential band than the wipers.

Thanks for the great music 1999ihatemsic. You obviously don't hate music though ;-)

  • 8 people should be pushed over the edge. of a cliff.

  • Money has never contributed to great lyrics. The motivation cannot compare to the motivation of free will and underdogism. Growing up dependent has never taught you real lessons, and may it always prevail when true bands from humble beginnings stay to their roots.

They make the best of trees for shade =P

So.. what is real? and then theres relevant. Be both. Posting how you hate selling out only shows your fear of low morals. DIG INTO YOUR FEARS!

  • Any parent worried that their kids are going to grow up listening to shit should lock them in a room with this LP, Roky Erickson's 'Casting the Runes' and a bunch of music stuff and Don't let them out til they can play.

  • this music is too good for the mainstream. they wouldn't understand anyways.

  • I heard about this song because I love hole and they covered it. This is a great song!!!!

  • love this songgg :D betcha not many other 13 year old girls can say that.. :P

  • Try Zeno Records. Greg Sage owns the company.

  • @iamaladycanyousaveme lol....wow, u get pissed.....and i don't really care....i believe if the members of the band are true artists, they will be happy that people want to hear their music, whether they profit from it or not....and like i said, money should be made playing shows. if people can download this for free, they'll have more money to go out and see them live....and btw, i live on my own, so i don't have copious amounts of money to spend on music.....

  • @StarpilotSinfony It costs money to make art, and any artist would love to get paid for their creation so that they can create more.

Soooo many excellent bands have broken up because little bastards just download their albums for free.

  • @StarpilotSinfony

As someone that has played in numerous bands that have toured, across the country/world and has been paid for doing so, this is a total farce. There is no money to be made in playing live unless you are backed by corporate sponsors, are Tragedy, etc....regardless of how talented you are. If you don't have the money to buy an LP, but call a spade a spade.

If you disagree, that's fine, I don't go on youtube to pick fights, but your logic is just wrong.

  • @HelicopterHoneymoon well, true artists don't mind giving their art away for free.....the people who really suffer when you download music for free are not the artists, but the record company bean counters....and i don't care about those corporate fucks as they have no musical abilities or talents and are just leeching off the talents of others....if u wanna be a moneygrubber douche, that's fine....but i am not a moneygrubber....i am not motivated by money....and i don't care for that mindset.

  • @StarpilotSinfony

That's right, true artists do not care about money. BUT, any artist has to eat. So do their kids. As you say, the band should make money playing live, this just simply isn't possible for most. They go on tour, and the only money that they see, usually comes from record/t-shirt sales. Most people don't buy records anymore, and as a result a lot of bands just don't tour.

Again, I'm not saying don't download, just don't pretend that you are so magnanimous.

  • @StarpilotSinfony

also, re: corporate "fucks". What corporate fucks are making money off the wipers? The albums have been controlled by the man himself, Greg Sage, for at least a decade. Any money is going to him.

What punk bands have all of their profits going towards corporations? Not many that I know. The bands that deserve to be supported, the DIY bands are the ones that you end up hurting.

  • @StarpilotSinfony

re: Moneygrubber "douche". when you tour across the USA in the winter with a van with no heat, when you come home to an eviction notice after spending all of your money to play your heart out, when you can't hold a steady job because you have to quit to tour the country, when you have to decide whether to eat or to buy a new set of guitar strings, then you can call me a money grubber douche.

  • @iamaladycanyousaveme AND FUCK AMAZON.....AMAZON IS SHIT.....i'm not gonna support a shit company like that....ALSO: when amazon sells this album, i can guarantee you that the band receives next to nothing for it.....so shut the fuck up....do you work for amazon or something you money-grubbing prick?

  • @iamaladycanyousaveme well sorry, i'm not rich like you....i wasn't born into riches nor do i have a lot of money right now...stop being such a money-grubber....it's yr imperialist attitude that's destroying this planet....and let me guess, you vote conservative too??

  • @iamaladycanyousaveme cuz the album is not readily available in stores....besides, #1 why wouldn't the band be happy that people are interested in their albums? #2 most of the revenue from buying albums goes to the record companies, so we're really stealing off corporate fat cats who make millions of dollars off the creativity of others #3 the band should be more concentrated on making money off live shows....AND, the recorded album is a dying form of media anyway.....unfortunate, but true.

  • Such a cool song. The band had a distinct sound/feel. Their first records are classics.

It's cool for new fans to get them in a cheap compilation through Amazon or the band's sight.

  • "Don't do the things you do!" Thank you Mister Sage.

  • one of the best songs ever

  • @1999Ihatemusic Omg, thank you..I've never thought of that..Now I can steal all my favorite songs on youtube! ^-^ <3

  • One of the best bands ever!

  • I tried to write a song inspired by this song and they sounded way too much a like haha

  • greg sage live in thessaloniki in 1989 yeah!!!!!!over the edge!!!!!!

  • it may be 2010 but THANK GOD i found this band!!!

  • @finnishDEATH Agreed.

  • @finnishDEATH I found them in 1993 and I thought I was late to the party.

  • wipers

  • i love you!!!!!!

  • FUCK YEAH!

  • This is one of the greatest albums ever made. I LOVE the Wipers.

  • powerful shit, wish the kids nowadays have a band to grow up on like this one

  • cant find this fucking cd ANYWHERE ! it doesn't exist i tell you, we are imagining it

  • @SamsTown68

greg has a website and you can get the entire catalogue there.

the box set woudl be great....but i already have it all on vinyl.

  • @SamsTown68 - of course it exists. it's just not a corporate pressing, so you can't find it at walmart or amazon dot com. Use your imagination. This is REAL "independent" music. So go to the artist's on distribution website and get it straight from The Wipers. They aren't just saying they're independent cause they can't get a major label contract. They live and breathe true independent values.

  • @Satyagrahaha calm yourself, i know theyre independent. i didnt really think of looking online until dcmackin1 suggested it. i looked in 12 record stores that were fairly local and when i went to visit my cousin in nyc i looked in another 6. thats why i was saying they dont exist haha

  • @Satyagrahaha I'd love to live and breathe true independent values

  • Just brilliant :)

  • this album is just perfect

    all 11 tracks are masterpieces

  • @wifiThief I feel like that about Land of The Lost.

  • you american guys don´t recognize the messias even if he is sleeping on your door mat writing the best songs ever been written. greg sage for president. and i don´t even care about his addiction. people who write songs like this....priceless. this was me, malle, speaking from Dresden, Germany. good night and good fight.

  • @malle75 about what addiction ?

  • I love you Kurt Cobain for showing me so many wonderful bands like the Wipers which i wouldnt have known without you :)

  • @Nirvaaanaa Thanks Hole for making a wonderful cover of this song!

  • this band is sorta beside the point considering Nirvana showed up - whoops!

  • I saw these guys in the 80's at the 7th Street Entry in Minneapolis. Snuck my brother in under-age for a super-rare legendary show. Greg had a very cool Echoplex on top of his amp, and kept adjusting it for the different songs. His guitar tone was so much like in the studio. It really was a chilling show. What a memory.

  • I'm gunna get raped for typing this buuuut, i prefer Hole's cover...

  • @despseekingsusan I here ya!!! blasted + spent that Hole ep from my car thru most of 2006...

  • @despseekingsusan "I hear ya man!", spent + blasted that Hole ep from my car thru most of 2006 - - - my best buds and I still become nostalgic with this song - Holes SUPERIOR version - - - by the way everyone - once Nirvana came forward, this band became kinda beside the point...

  • @despseekingsusan Sinking lower that prehistoric frog shit I see.

  • @rancidsexbeast Thanks for the info, will try.

  • @rancidsexbeast I've hear of blogspot, just recently I might add. Besides blogs of info and opinions, can I get their music off of there?

  • I swear I can hear some influence from Television in the guitar playing.

  • Agreed, metalbuger2

  • from what year is this song?

  • 1983, recorded in 1982

  • I did as you said. But it doesn't work. I guess it's because I have vista.

  • Great song. I wish I could find it to download.

  • thank you god allah budha i love you all. to quote homer j simpson

  • This is fucking awesome, it makes me feel great.

  • This is REALLY great. And I'm also hearing some Cobainish melodies in it. That motherfucker copied. Can't blame him, this shit is good.

  • he was damn proud of it too.

  • how could cobain copy him if this came out before nirvana, or even fecal matter, came into fruitation?

  • @ImperatorDerGalaxis he didn't copy them. he incorporated their influence along with other influences to create his own sound, which is very influential, just like the amazing wipers!

  • I was really into this band around a year and a half ago, and I just dug up this record.

I'm ashamed of myself for ever forgetting them.

  • Fantastic!!! Stripped down, lean, raw and relentless. Should be the national anthem.

  • Amazing song! This is REAL music!

  • first time i heard this song and i think it is amazing. :)

  • @evanmwstuart courtney love has sung it.

  • Who are these guys?! And why are Men Without Hats remembered instead of them?!

  • Because Sage didn't want to advertise or promote his music in the attempt to save the band from becoming just another rock n roll commodity.

    Fantastic, pulsating energy.

  • He was left hand and even slightly resented his father for trying to make him a "righty" in the early years of his life.

  • he used to write with his right hand. just see pictures and videos

  • Kurt was right handed, but he played with his left.

  • he was left handed

  • Could he play right handed?

& why did he develop a left hand playing style, i wonder?

  • My dad kissed Greg Sage!

  • wtf are u talking about

  • My dad was in a band called the Surf Trio, and they played with the Wipers sometimes. Greg Sage was gay, and him and my dad were hanging out one day and Greg kissed him. My dad told him that he's not gay, but that Greg was a beautiful man and he'd still like to be friends.

    That's what I'm talking about.
