I played Trumpet for many years but laid my axe down some years back. But I can say from experience, practicing low in the register and lip slur exersices allowed me to play with good sound and endurance in the high ranges. Also alot of core strength exersices ie crunches, planks, etc.. Alot of new school Trumpet players are forgeting the basics and rely on throat air and not there core, a well seasoned player should have no issue playing high ranges wit a 7c mouthpeice.

well nah, its just they want to overlap and call on other parts so itsounds more intracate, theres alot going on. it helps build better chords and stuff like that its a good arrangement

Man I'm having a huge problem with my embouchure and tonation. I been playin the trumpet with braces my whole life and i was a beast at it. But ever since I got them removed, I SUCK!! What the heck am I supposed to do???

Something similar happened to me, I learned to play the trumpet with out braces, and my senior year of high skool I got braces and had to learn to play again. Less than a year later the braces came off when I reported to freshman predrill @ TnSU and I had to learn to play again. I basically spent my spare time practicing on lip slurs and long tones. I dont sound as good as I used to, but most people say Im cool. But occasionally I have air leaks cuz Im used to having braces.

I took me a while to find a comfortable embrochure but once I did, I just spent my time centering my air stream and adjusting my muscles. The only thing I can tell you is start off with long tones. Onece you get the note established without waving, then work on lip slurs and everything else should be cool..... Good luck!

Mmm...not they aren't. Having good screamers don't make you the best. A person can know how to scream but can't read worth shyt. I'd rather have a Trumpet Section with a well-rounded sound than to have 20-plus good screamer. I'm not discrediting SU in any way. I just think that the above judgment was based solely on screaming. I know Trumpet Sections that don't scream (BCU) that are more balance...but this vid was good for what is was! :)
