Know I'm going to get ridiculed for this, but I'm old enough to have seen this show live, and the big knock against this show (not the wonderful members of this corps) was that it was insanely boring for 8.5 min and ended with 1.5 min of beautiful, wonderful, exciting, creative magic. That's why the VAST majority of vids of them on youtube are of the last 1.5 min. Overall, the Cadets of 93 had the best show..but the best drumline of the early 90s was scv 91...this was a game changing corps tho..
@flizzleFlopper The reason you think the last 1.5 was magic is because of how well it was set up by the first 8.5. If spurts of minimalism and a whole lot of musicality aren't what you consider "entertaining" then.... ok... You're entitled to your opinion. I love the show start to finish because it's a perfect example of everything having it's "place" in the bigger picture of the entire show. There is little to no fluff ever. Being understated was their intention and they pulled it off amazingly
@flizzleFlopper I saw this show 4 times live, and the only thing they did wrong during the season was to "liven it up" with more flash and the new unis, etc. Early in the season it was a study in ridiculously clean, musical minimalism. For some of us the first 8 mins were completely awesome!
It makes rehearsal more like the show. Most corps occasionally wear their uniform tops and shakos/helmets/hats for full ensemble rehearsals to create a show-like atmosphere.

I've seen the rehearsal clip of this section from the 93 video yearbook, but this angle REALLY shows how far and fast the snares are going. Damn.

@cccustommusic It can limit your field of vision, so they rehearse with them on occasionally to get used to it.
