  • What the hell is Kissy doing, while Starlett is doing her monolouge?? All that wailing and stuff. It's halirious. i can't stop laughing!!!

    LMAO!

  • Scralett: Oh, Bradley i love you, i love you, i love you. Now what was it you wanted to tell me, darling?

Bradley: (clears his throat) i wished you would have said that sooner, this is going to be easy

Scarlett: Oh bradley, .i love you, i love you, i love you.

Bradley: well, i uh married melody this afternoon.

Scarlett: Oh Bradley, i hate you, i hate you, i hate you, how could you do that to me, how could you?

    LMAO!!

  • I remember watching that dreadful film and thinking about this sketch throughout the whole experience.

  • @KekoaOnorati Hahahahahaha! Yep, she sure did say that!

  • A baby? Oh shooooooooooe

  • And make tuna casserole! XD

  • Oh, Billie Joe! My goodness, I thought you had jumped off the Tallahatchie Bridge.

  • thanks for posting

  • is melody his cousin???

  • @steve10153 Yeah, that's how it was in the movie. The Wilkes always married their cousins. (That's one reason Ashley married Melony and not Scarlett.) Back in those days it didn't matter, because they weren't like immeadiate family.

  • @PinkGlitter014

Actually, in the original novel, the Wilkeses were all thought of as sort of weird because, among other things, they married their cousins. There was a conversation between Gerald and one of the neighbors early in the book about how it was weakening the Wilkes' bloodline and making them unhealthy.

  • "What did you do, Melody? Tie a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree"?

  • well that's pretty but that doesn't answer my question! rofl epic win man i love these skits!!!

  • LOL, at 6:30: "If I have to lie, steat, cheal, and murder..."

  • "why don't you just stick your head in the punch bowl I think it could use a little more sugar...." hahahahaa!! and true.

  • I love you I love you I love you I love you I rlly rlly do love you. I hate you I hate you I hate you I hate you I hate you!

  • "My money's gone."

    "Gone? Gone where?"

    "It went with the wind."

    "Wind? What wind?"

    (Cue music)

"Well,it's pretty but it didn't answer my question."

The whole show from it's 11 year run was pure greatness!!!

  • While this is deservedly best-remembered, this was actually the second time Carol parodied "GWTW." The first was exactly nine years prior, on her Nov. 13, 1967 show, where she played "Scarlett O'Fever," Rat was played by guest Richard Chamberlain, and there was a character named "Ashley Famous" which was also a reference to a then-prominent Hollywood talent agency which, after a series of mergers and acquisitions over the next decade, morphed into International Creative Management (ICM).

  • 1:28 OMFG ROFLMAO!!!

  • Too good to be true!

  • 0:38-0:45 - Ace Bobbie Gentry reference (Ode To Billie Joe FYI)!

  • @Suedeheadlover - At the time of this parody, there was a TV-movie made that was based on Ms. Gentry's song, so that piece had a new lease on life at the time.

  • This is awesome!

  • hehe she said cheal and steat instead of steal and cheat

  • hahahaaa..."mm hmm..in the meantime..why don't you stick your head in the punch bowl, melanie...i'm sure it could use some more SUGAH*

  • The 6 people who disliked this, don't have a sense of humor.

  • @hyancinth70 they are probably black

  • @MPL029 Haha!! This could be true! lol

  • One of my favorite skits in the world. Thank you so much for this!

  • I'm playing Sissy in the coming play, and it is just Hilarious. my throat hurts now though... but its so much fun to do it:D

  • 6 people wouldn't know comedy if it smacked them acrossed the face after they yelled "MS. STARLET" six times.

  • @BionicWolf4 Hahahaha! Exactly!

  • how they can poke fun at a four hour long movie in 20 mins and have it be hilarious is absolute genius!

  • 6 people need to stick their heads in a punch hole. I'm sure It, use more sugar

  • 6 people just don't get this. I'll never forget being a little girl & watching this w/ my mom. I NEVER saw her laugh so much in my entire life!

  • Brashley I love you i love you i love you i love you.....i hate you i hate you i hate you!

  • Who's the nurse? She looks familiar...

  • @NQ201 You mean Prissy? It's Vicki Lawrence :)

  • @husker222

Marrying cousins used to be FAR more common than it is nowadays. And most evidence suggest it probably isn't that problematic genetically.

  • Has anyone else caught that, in her final speech, she totally says, "If I have to lie, STEAT, CHEAL, and murder..."?

  • @KekoaOnorati Nice catch!

  • @KekoaOnorati They had to change the script and character names due to trademarking and copywright.

  • well that's pretty but it doesn't answer my question.

  • Oh Brashley! I loveyaIloveyaIloveyaILUUUUVVya....IhateyaIhateyaIhateyaIHATEya!! LOLLOL

  • and you two shut up ... tauh faling wall

  • i love carol noone like her lol!

  • I always thought the hot water was to sterilize the scissors which would cut the umbilical cord. Anyway, Carol's famous line in this skit is one of the funniest ever recorded!!

  • carol burnette does a gr8 greta garbo impression at 3:38 lmao...

  • A baby.

    Oh Shewwt.

  • Did Starlett say "lie, steat and cheal" instead of lie, cheat and steal?

This is my number one favorite skit The Carol Burnett show ever did. Hilarious from beginning to end. :-))

  • What the heck did you do Melody, Tie a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree. LOL..

  • flub-at 6:33, carol says, i if i have to lie, steat, chill (cheat, steal)

    lol

    love this skit

  • "Could I offer you a chair? Youve got it."

  • I never did understand why they boiled water to have a baby.

  • @lollipopfop Haven't you ever seen the movies of pre-modern medical facilities?

As they say in the movies: All you need to have a baby, is towels, scissors, and hot water!

  • I love this video!

  • At 6:34 listen for the spoonerism: "lie, steet and cheal" instead of "lie, cheat and steel." LOL! They left it in!

  • harvey korman really pulls off clark gable

  • @husker222 they were just following the storyline of GONE WITH THE WIND

  • 6:33 "If I have to lie, steet, cheal, and murder..." LOL Carol messed up... ;D

  • @Acemaster53 10 bucks says the original line is copyrighted. but i love that.

  • @leftiesrox You can't copyright a term. Paris Hilton attempted to copyright "that's hot", and Donald Trump attempted to get "You're Fired" and they both lost. :D

  • @Acemaster53 those are terms they say. if it's in a copyrighted book, that's different.

  • @leftiesrox No, if it's in a book then it cannot be published in a book. The court has held, most notably in Hormel Foods vs. SpamArrest, that you cannot copyright or trademark a term. It's much more likely that was just a screwup.

  • @husker222 not only married had a kid with

  • this is a classic!

  • she still is the QUEEN OF COMEDY !

  • Carol Burnett is the ULTIMATE queen of comedy... NOBODY owns the sketch BUT Carol Burnett!

  • Bob Mackey was quite the designer. He did all the costumes for Carol and the gang.

  • I love this video--it's so hilarious!

  • Is that Michael Jeter as the soldier she hits with the chair?

  • She has to be the funniest woman of all time NO contest.

  • ROFLMAO

    6:18-7:07

  • "You're sick!" XD

  • @vlcupper YEAH SHE DOES...part of me hated this thing at the time because of what it meant. But yeah she sure did own it!

  • did she say lie, steat, and cheel?

  • basically yes. It was a play on "steal and cheat"

  • RIP HARVEY

  • Harvey Korman died today

  • It's a shame comedy like this doesn't exist anymore. Nothing will ever compare to Viki and Carol.

  • Lie, steat, cheal and murder...hmmm, a blooper not noticed or part of the writing...hard to say

  • I think she did it on purpose... Cause she's purposly trying to mess up one of the greatest monologues af all time...

    _Nick_

  • You could be right - it's been so long since I've seen Gone With The Wind, it's hard to tell.

  • I remember watching this when I was a kids. It's even funnier now.

  • Wow you must be 10.
