  • Too hard to compose with it. Really not intuitive. I prefer Nanostudio, it's more funny to compose and you don't think about how i will put this sound here, what is that? How i do this?

  • you should do a tutorial on the basics of learning this app. haha sorry im having a hard time

  • Starting at 1:10 - how are you using the virtual keyboard to enter notes ino that "sequencer" that will be played back. A little less mystery and a bit more explanation would be useful, seeing as how it's not exactly intuitive.

  • @qloey 1. Push the REC button - recording (not realtime) started.

    2. Push the piano button with some note. This note will be placed in a pattern (above). And the cursor (yellow box on this video) is moved down one step.

    3. Moving your finger in a pattern - to get moving the cursor.

You can read more about the patterns on the official SunVox page.

  • Here's a question - how to enter notes to be played back?!?!/ Extremely confusing! Is there even a sequencer in this software?

  • I like this app but it's pretty slow to make tunes with it. So I prefer the desktop-version.

  • Just wanted to drop a line to sing the praises of this Tracker. I have been using it on my Liunux desktop and Windows laptop and have been able to create some good music with it. I love it.

  • Take from iTunes: "SunVox is the Most Powerful music creation tool for iPhone/iPad."

That's laughable. It's a music creation tool, but a far cry from the "Most Powerful" when put head to head with NanoStudio or MusicStudio for example.

There's not even any MIDI support from what I can gather. Also it's ugly to boot.

  • all right . thanks for the response , i might take you up on the questions in the near future, the problem is i have a lot of questions at this point and dont feel like asking you for every little detail at this point , but i will ask some down the road here, once i figure it out a little better ill change my comments ,, i just didnt realize it was gonna be this much work , for now im just mainly using Rythm 8 on PSP as its easy to understand for a laymen like my self, I appreciate the response

  • @redbirdsaraceno Sorry for some lack of documentation. But you always can ask me directly (nightradio@gmail.com). I'm ready to answer any question as soon as possible.

  • @NightRadio2007 Sorry for being so upset with my previous comment , i was just really frustrated. You seem like a good guy and the new version looks really cool. ,but im still not having any luck getting two channels with short melodies ,then after that i cant get any thing else, i dont know what im doing wrong here but i still cant figure it out

  • @redbirdsaraceno Please tell me what exactly you want. For example: melody on two simultaneous tracks; first track - sinusoidal generator; second track - FM-synth. :) Or something other. I will record the video specially for you. Or will make a slideshow.

  • @redbirdsaraceno sorry for being so upset with me previous comment here , just frustrated with trying to figure it out so far. You seem like a good guy and the new version looks pretty cool, but i still cant get past a short basic melody in the first 2 channels then I cant get anything else going , i cant figure out what im doing wrong here

  • @redbirdsaraceno

Iphone is too small for this program, it is hard to use your finger to do insert the note. I have a Nokia N900, the program works great on it.

  • @upszhu Its not the size of the screen im having problems with , iphone and nokia are about the same size as far as im aware of, its how to compose whole songs, how to activate all the different modules to sound, and how to activate and choose the different settings when recording notes , like the octaves and what not, it doesnt seem to work forme like it does in the videos i watch. It runs fine on my iphone but a larger screen would probably make it easier .

  • @redbirdsaraceno , Totally agree with you, I am learning both FL studio and Sunvox now. I think I will Sunvox much more because I have it on my N900 too. I did noticed that the same sunvox file sounds a little different from my n900 than from my computer. Anyway, love the program. I even made one song for my lovely fish using Sunvox, check it out when you have time.

  • @upszhu whats FL studio?, i didnt see it in the app store

  • @redbirdsaraceno

That is a program on computer, not on iphone. FL studio is more complicated and powerful, I think for me right now, I like sunvox better. By the way, it is alway fun to share some of your music if you made it.

  • @upszhu Yah sun vox is pretty cool ! You can get interesting sounds on it, the maker told me he is going to make a video for iphone users pretty soon ,so that will help a lot, He seems like a really good guy. yah , i have some songs on my you tube channel. Let me know if you put up more yourself, I liked your fishtank song ! Take care.

  • @redbirdsaraceno

Same physical size, but n900 resolution (800 x 480) is much bigger than iPhone 3 (480 x 320), and only slightly less than iPhone4 (960x640)

  • lol it sux on that small screen , your makin it look bad

  • have a question hoping for an answer. i have a song on sunvox i want to export to my cpu as a wav or mp3. when i go to export to wav or wifi sync, it either pulls nothing up in the list but samples, user songs, and examples. when i go to wifi sync, it lets me download it but its like "song.sunvox" is the format and nothing will recognize it. help please! just want it on my cpu either a wav or mp3. any help would be greatly appreciated

  • @aaronbrakefield When you choose Export.. in the file menu, you can choose to export it as WAV or MIDI. You need to do that -before- you enable your WiFi or your computer will only find .sunvox files, simply because the .wav file hasn't been created. Also, SunVox is also available for PC (free), which should render your .sunvox files a lot quicker than your iPhone.

  • I really like that Idea... Dual capacitative/resistive stylus(plural) and a good size velocity sensitive touch screen. Put a tiny video projector in it, and call it the porta-party-5000 ;)

  • Brilliant program, very clever, and fun to use. I thought I could get sunvox running on the Nokia n900 in the easy debian , but easy debian has no sound. I can see how multi-touch would be a nice feature. 800x400 res and a stylus good too.

  • really awesome video, helped me out alot :D

  • The video quality wasn't that bad (I've seen far worse)

Pretty cool tracker by the way, tough to bad it doesn't save it in .mod files.
